Im sure I have profited from the cashiers errors but never the IRS for I usually filled out my my taxes wrong and they had to correct me and by golly, my error always turned out to be in my favor when they corrected it.

I talk to myself, often daily. ~ Whilst working in psychiatric institutions, some "staff" still feel this is "sick". But 2 psychiatrists I've worked with, agreed (depending on the positive constructive-quality) this actually being *healthy*
so,
remember this: "It's OK to chat with yourself. It's even better, when you can get both your Conscious, & Subconscious, to agree. Yet, at times when a part of you asks "Huh?" in response, especially then - you stand a chance of learning something newly-Usefull "

RE: "dreams" - Do you mean, of things that are to Come, as in Future-events? - Yes, several.

Both *pleasant*;
but also -
One that I wish I had not suffered thru, was during the night of 9-11
BEFORE any of the 4-planes were boarded, I sensed a few (in the air) causing trouble, with people upset, crying & some planning to mount a defense. ~ I got generalities (but the "exact-locations, & who specifically" - which was the needed info), in order to Help - avert that tragedy
