The story goes (as I said in the title this really happened) that a minister came out of his parsonage one morning and found a kitten up a very limber tree in his yard. He could' coax the kitten down. It looked terrified. He didn't have a ladder tall enough to reach the kitten so he decided to tie a rope on the tree and then to the bumper of his truck to bend the tree over enough to reach the kitten. When he thought he had the tree low enough to reach the kitte, he got out of the truck. Looking at the tree he realized that it still was not low enough so he got back in the truck to pull it more. Suddenly the rope broke and sent the kitten flying through the air. The minister felt terrible so he went through the neighbor hood asking if anyone had seen a stray kitten. No one had seen it. A few days later the minister was at the grocery store and noticed one of his members buying cat food. This struck him as being old so he ask her why she was buying cat food since she hated cats. She said that a few days before she and her young daughter were out in their backyard spending time together. Her daughter was pestering her to get a family cat. She finally relented and said okay but only if the Lord sent them a cat. Her daughter fell on her knees and cried with a loud voice, "Lord send us a cat!" The women then told her pastor that he would not believe what happened next. She said that she knew that God answers prayers in strnge and mysterious ways sometimes but this one really baffled her. What happened was that a kitten came flying through the air and landed squarely in front of her daughter! Needless to say the pastor found what happened to the kitten and also, he didn't have the heart to tell the mother!
