Peace eternal and ALmighty's favor be upon all:

My dearest brothers and sisters,

i am interested to understand the mennonite faith in modern terms and how it is being taught and spread in this time.

Are there any mennonites on this forum?
Are mennonites now allowed to use this type of technology?

The mennonites i am accustomed to are living off the grid, and use only propane heat and refrigerators in this modern day babylon.
Are there many more liberal types who are online, that perhaps have been shown that some technology, while from evil, can, like now, be used for the good of our Lord, and our ALmighty God?

Just a few questions for those who may be so enlightened to the answers to these.
I look forward to your answers.

Love always,
your brother,
charles

I go to a Mennonite college.
Yes, Mennonite's have technology, if they choose to... just like any other denomination, there are more traditional and then more "progressive" Mennonites...

p.s. I don't think technology is from evil. I also think that your post is very condescending.

Good bye now :)

There are many different Mennonite churches and groups, and a very, very wide spectum among Mennonites in beliefe and practice. At one end you have Old Order groups, some of which prefer primative technology, at the other extreme you have liberal Mennonite groups that would even advocate homosexual marriage. In between you have an asortment of groups not merely in a liberal to conservative line, but reflecting Mennonite ethnicity, traditions, assimilation and influence of other Christian traditions.

Oher than (at least in North America) the common ethnicity of most Mennonites, the "least common denominator" among Mennonites would be believers's baptism and non-resistance (New Testament pacifism).

My dearest sister,

Peace be with you.

I cannot apologize to you since I was not condescending. I cannot be sorry for what you feel.

I do, however, wish to understand the mennonite faith, since i am interested in the role they play in these endtimes.

I have met different kinds of sinners in my life, and mennonites are included in these. Several men I have had the honor of working with are quite virtuous, but are also a little judgmental. I see their point. While others I have encountered are quite the opposite.

Not so funny story.

While deep in sin, I entered a bar after a fishing trip. I was drinking but not drunk, yet. When in through the door came 3 "amish" women. They were 17, 19, and 20 y/o. They were dressed in traditional modest attire, and without face paint.

They entered the restroom, and transformed into harlots. They exited looking like street wh%^&^, and I was taken aback, in my own judgmental way. I thought hell was freezing over.

I know there are sins in all. I do not think the "amish" or any sect are perfect. But I do think the virtuous acts of the fundamentalists are pleasing to the Lord. A beacon of Light in the darkness we are in.

I seek to understand the differences in our dogmas.

Perhaps I could ask a few simple questions.

To any mennonites.

What is the mennonite belief IRT the Trinity?

" the passion?

" salvation?

Creation?

Sectarianism?

This is a start. Please do not be offended since I seek only to educate myself, not to condemn or insinuate anything or anyone in your faith.

PS, thanks for the info Wayne!

Sincerely,
charles

Hi Charles,

I'm glad that you are here!

My best years were spent with the most wonderful Mennonite families I've ever known. Loved going to church there.
That is where I consider my earthly home; where God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit used His people to rescue a young, outspoken, funny, abused & hurt little girl many years ago.
I saw God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit ,,, through these humble, loving, Mennonite families. The Lord saved me.... I met Jesus in our little country church!!!!

My childhood home was extremely abusive & dysfunctional and not a christian home. But by the grace of God, there go I.

I understand the horror you must have felt when the girls emerged from the restroom.
Please remember them in your prayers, perhaps they were testing their boundaries,,,,,however inappropriate. Have done and still do ridiculous things, some things sinful.....i'm ashamed before God and ask His forgiveness. On my knees weeping into the Hands of Lord Jesus seeking His face, ........"make me an instrument of they peace."

Charles, I 'll remember you in prayer and may the Good Lord bless & keep you close to His heart.

Christ love~
nancy

His post is a perfect example of why one needs to understand the difference between the Mennonites and the Amish. There was a post I saw regarding Old Order Mennonites. I believe there is also the Old Order Amish. Typically Mennonites seem to be a bit more liberated towards technology than the Amish.

The young women you saw were probably not yet Baptised into the Amish faith. Though they were born into the Amish culture does not mean that they were of the faith. Their young people are given the opportunity to determine if they wish to become truly Amish or not - this is often referred to within the community as "Rumspringa." This is why you will see a lot of their youth listening to rock music, driving cars, drinking, smoking, etc. As closed as their society seems to be to the outside world - those not baptised yet have a bit more leeway as to what they can and cannot do. If those young women were baptised however - and their community knew about the little excursion to the bar they would be shunned.

Thanks for the reply.
I have learned that since I made that post. I simply cannot understand how, after been given the simple life, one would choose to enter into this sick culture of the american way. Oh, how I long for Messiah Jesus to return and restore His Father's Order to this world.

Praise and exalt Him above all forever!

How did you know, precisely, how old each of the three girls were?

My dear brother,

When I had initially began to type that particular reply it was much too detailed. Perhaps to the point of glorifying my own sin. I was under the influence in a rural bar/tavern, and was lonely. I approached the girls as they appeared loose.

I did not want to post it initially because I was, and am ashamed of my own immoral behavior.
I actually spent a good portion of that evening with the three of them. Two of whom left early, the other was brought back close to home by myself.
I admitted I was deep in sin in the post. I just didn't admit to anything other than alcohol abuse.

I have long since stopped abusing, and rarely use alcohol.

To any mennonites.

What is the mennonite belief IRT the Trinity?

" the passion?

" salvation?

Creation?

Sectarianism?

As a Mennonite I think I can answer a few of your questions.

Trinity: conservative Mennonites believe in the Trinity. Then there are some who define the Trinity differently and there are those variations within the community.

The Passion: You referring to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ? If so, absolutely YES. Without Jesus' shedding of blood for our sins we cannot be redeemed. It is essential for salvation and it is up to the individual to believe, accept and allow the Holy Spirit to regenerate this lost soul.

Salvation: see the above.

Creation: most believe God created the world in 6 -24 hour days. The difference lies in whether you have imbibed any theistic evolution ideas and made it your own.

Sectarianism: if you are referring to the idea that one has to be a member of a certain church in order to get to heaven, I am not aware of any groups like this although that possibility always does exist.

Conservative group believe that if you have been washed in the blood of Jesus and he has redeemed you, you will walk in newness of faith and be obedient to the WORD, allowing the Holy Spirit to enpower you in all of life.

Hope this answers your questions.

While, my family is pretty Mennonite, but not the Mennonite you described!
I know that some Mennonites are still super traditional, like Amish people.
I don't watch any tv shows or movies that have magic or wizard stuff. I did read Twilight, but I was pretty sensitive to it.
Mennonites today are a lot different. I live a really normal life, but some things are the slightest bit different. I have dated a guy but decided that I am waiting a while until I know I want to get married. I dress modestly, and I am careful to the situations I am exposed to- I don't party or drink.
I am just learning Mennonite history- I suggest reading a book or searching online (A book would be more accurate I am sure).
I hope this helps a bit :)

Thanks sis.

i am pretty sure that most of the mennonites I have met have been traditional amish. They are quite pleasant and virtuous. Until I asked these questions I had no idea there were other sects existing inside the mennonite faith.

I appreciate your reply, and God Bless you.

Actually they are not the same thing. I just got back from Pennsylvania. There's a huge difference between Mennonite and Amish and I believe it unfair to classify them as the same.

Not sure why "technology" is considered "liberal" and non-technology is "conservative"

The fact is that to those who pre-date the domestication of the horse - a buggy is a massive technological advancement.

Therefore, "Conservative" isn't the word - "Silly" is (that is the least negative word I could use to describe what literally is a form of hypocrisy particularly if there is self-righteousness attached.

We could simply eat our meat raw... but instead we have the "technology" of fire, etc.

A horse is created by, and given unto mankind by ALmighty God. So is lumber.
Whereas our Beloved has reminded us that He saw satan coming to earth a lightning from the sky. ELECTRICITY!

The further mankind extends himself into this technological age, the further he distances himself from the Creator ALmighty.

The time is fast upon us where this technology will be disabled(struck by the hand of God), but will be restored by lucifer himself, and the whole of the earth transformed into a technological eden. Mankind glorifying the coming wizard and eventually worshiping him as god.
