A Dog's Prayer

Lord of all creatures, make the man who is my master as faithul to others as I am to him. Cause him to love his family and friends as much as I love him. May he be the guardian of his blessings as I guard him and his possessions. When I wag my tail, Lord may he have a ready smile and be as grateful as I am quick to lick his hand. Grant him my patience. Teach him to wait without complaing as I wait for his return. Give him my courge. Keep for him the youthfulness of my heart and the cheerfulness of my thoughts.
Lord of all creatures, as I am always truly a dog, grant that my master may always truly be a man.​

I think your post has wonderful insight. Thank you. I, too, think one reason the Lord gives us dogs as pets is to teach us how to live and love more fully.

People please protect your dogs during this time of the 4th of July.
Fireworks are terrifying to dogs.
Here there is a whole month to use them and be legal.
I keep my dogs in as much as possible.

Yeah, my dog HATES the fireworks. People aren't SUPPOSED to even have any little fire crackers in the city limits. I don't really go to see them, but we live near enough to where they do the official forth of July fireworks display that it scares my dog SO much! He always comes running! It's so cute!
