A Diverted Path
As we tread upon the blacken tar, enticing us
a path of granite stones and organic debris,
staggered our steps to an, unknown journey.
Exposing it's beauty and wisdom, inspired
our eyes to wander and hearts to ponder.
Unsure, what lies ahead, we persevered.
Each step watchful, each decision needed.
Not sencing a breeze, provided a gift.
A doe, fifteen away, stood and stared.
Displaying her beauty and showing no fear, we
bestowed a blessing, as she posed like a portrait,
then slowly left and disappeared. Leaving us with,
the towering trees of thick green moss pointing north,
we wandered into a dark terrain, surrounded by
snares and unknowns. Overwhelmed with
insecurity and fear, God's wonders, slowly, faded away.
Hoping to escape, a piercing beam of light thrusted through,
illuminated the treacherous path, and escorted us back to,
a solid foundation. The hardened black tar where,
diverted steps, were taken, by a lure.

Some of these things actually happened when we decided to take a walk. God inspired me to write it in a poem. I hope you will enjoy it.
