I would like to open a discussion on 2 Kings 2 verses 1 & 11. King James version:
1 It came to pass, when the LORD took up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, That Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, Behold,
There appeared a chariot of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elisha went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
So, the creator of Heaven and earth needs a chariot to get around in?
Why not part the sky and reach down and grab Elijah? A Chariot seems to be a very crude form of transportation for the creator of the Universe? One may argue not to take the Bible literally. This is an inconsistant method picking and choosing which scripters to take literally. The bible is very clear in who took Elijah and how this was done. I look forward to input into a most perplexing discription of Gods method of transportation.
