A dedication to my dear 14 year old Calan Soong drowned in the sea on 10 September 2003...
Calan Soong is one of the boys I know from an orphanage home here in my hometown. He's such a lovely boy and he greets everybody whenever they visit the Home..."Hello, sister, good evening. How are you?" Just to anybody at all.
I was teaching computer studies there then and Calan had been coming up to me and asked, "Sister, can you please teach me computing?" and I will always answer, "Calan, please wait for your turn to come and I'll teach you." but it never happened.
I had been so busy with my own personal things until he passed away while they went to a bungalow by the beach for a stay. The waves was so, so strong and poor Calan, a very thin boy had been swept into the sea by the waves. Everybody was so panic and looked for help but not much help comes by. By the time they found his body in between the rocks and he passed away for three hours.
Whenever I try to picture myself in his situation, I'm in so much pain. I cannot imagine how Calan had struggled in the water and had caught in between the rocks. When I went for the funeral, I found his body all darken up and there were some scars on his face.
I missed you, Calan!!!
