  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everybody,

I've made a few of these over the years and given them away as gifts. They've gotten a lot of attention from others. They hang on the wall and the people I've given them to say that when friends visit their homes for the first time, they always notice these crosses. Anyway, I'm thinking about starting to market and possibly sell these items...

Any ideas???

Thanks
Geoff Mann

They are made of steel. I cut, brushed, twisted and welded the pieces together. I then coated them with a glossy clear coat. There is a tab welded to the back, this way they can be hung on the wall. They are anywhere from 12 - 24 inches tall. I don't really work with pieces that are so small that they can be worn as jewelry. Just not my cup of tea. ;)

I like them. If you're going to mass produce them for sale I would do a couple things. First make sure you develop some good fixturing to keep the look consistent. Its also helpful to incorporate some sort of hook/loop in the back for wall mounting.

What I like about the piece is cold hardness of it helps to convey the pain and suffering that must of been endured. You compliment that well the soft cloth like lines in your 'twist'. It might even help more if it were anchored to a nice piece of wood and give it some more depth, but wood prices have been crazy lately.

Good luck

Don't visit this side of the forums much but the work is beautiful. It catches the idea for being unique and is powerful also. Good work and I wish you the best of success if you decide to market them.
