  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello,

I am here to express things I think our new council should do.

~Slightly increase University regulations. I express 'slightly' because freedom of ideas in univ. should be present. However many of these 20 year old students and some of these 50 year old Professors, Catholic, and non-Catholic, talk through the rear setting fire on our faith!
Sending a few Glergy or Religious to monitor the classroom every once in a while would help maintain some respect.

~Continue to ignore left liberal views. It seems to me like the Church has done a decent job with this, but we need to keep it up. Make it be known in a clever way that we aren't liberal people like some people, including university students and professors think. Avoid the central government the Democrats and Greens support with laws that take away our unalienable rights given to us by the constitution!

~Have more conservastive and progressive Priests in sermons in all chuirches big and small. Get to the point more often on Abortion, Euthenasia, Homosexual "Marriage," Human Cloning and Fetal Stem Cell Resaerch. Rather than having parishes that will still give liberal, pro-abortion politicians like John Kerry and Arnold communion. If we tell the people they will understand. The ones who are sinning will surely reconsider corrupting our midsts and their souls. And the 'fakes' will have to fess up and leave if they can't be true christians.

I can't stand the view that Protestants are conservative and Catholics are liberal. Its appaling for those who hear about the occasional sex-ofending Priest (so-called) and drunken west siders, fornicators etc. That in a sense, give the media the `weapons` that allow it to ruin Jesus' Roman Church!

God Bless,

let us all remember that we belong to the Church JESUS started; and act that way.
I don't think the church is either liberal or conservitive.
I think we are called to be holy and in doing this we will be both liberal and conservitive
and in real fact neither cause we will be busy learning to do the things JESUS wants us to do.
Worship HIM totally body and soul.
work for HIS agenda of Life (God is, after all, Pro-Life!!)
visiting the sick and those in prison, taking in the homeless, feeding the hungry, etc.

all for JESUS and his awesome Church,
lonnie

Hi...

FWIW:
I just wanted to say, I agree w/ you. Christs' teachings are now over 2000 years old, and in todays' world, they are conservative. The Holy Bible itself, is very conservative and paints things as either black or white.

IMCO:
I am hoping and praying our new Holy Father will continue in his "hard-liner" footsteps, we need it.

Also, our goal is to get to Heaven and that's why Purgatory exisits, there are no shades of grey. Right?

Thanks for sharing.

I think you're right. Hopefully, Pope Benedict will demolish the sex abuse scandle in the Church. I think that the biggest problem in today's society is with sexuality. Even at CCD tonight I noticed that every single girl from the sixth graders to the eight graders was wearing 'revealing' clothing, that wouldn't even be acceptable in most public schools. We've also got 'homosexuals' claimming that God created them gay, and that this shouldn't separate them from the Church. Not to mention the junk that we see on T.V.

What effect is this going to have on the youngest Children in our Church? They are the future. I pray that Pope Benedict can do something about this issue. I think that if this is resolved, everything else will be able to fall in place.
