A Child's Game


A child's game of hide and seek
So innocent and free
I was meek
Didn't understand what he wanted from me


We were hiding in a tree
Waiting to be found
I didn't even see
When he made my hand go down


He made me touch him
Where I was told was bad
He made me do stuff to him
I felt kinda sad


After the game was done
He made me lay down in tall grass
He told me we were gonna have fun
I was wondering how long it would last


He touched me all over
He never missed a spot
I laid there, wishing it was over
But I never once fought


He got on top of me
It hurt so bad
I couldn't see
I was scared and very very sad


When it was done
He told me never to tell
He asked if it was fun
I said yes, but it was really hell


I never told a soul
until much much later
I will never be the same
Not now, not forever

In agreement. I lift you to the comfort of Jesus' lap, to His wiping of every tear; each tear He held on the cross, knowing abuse like no other.

You know, I once was soooo frustrated, I was crying out to God and I said,"Lord, You promised that You understood and cradled us in our pain and trials. How could You have let these things happen to my husband? HIS pain, You don't know! I was so broken by the horrible way that My husband was treating me, all the time, because of the emotional pain he was in...(still does, much less intense).

I flipped open my bible as almost a challenge...like, "Just try and comfort me this time! "....and there before my eyes lay this:
