One post is entitled,"OK,I HATE being single"
Has anyone ever thought, during this recession that may turn into a depression, that being single NOW may be a GOOD thing? For us men,it may just well be. Since us men are supposed to be the bread winners, having a wife and a couple of children to support in this bad economy could be very stressful. Now,I am greatfull that God has provided me with my physical needs. Those needs being food, water, clothes, and shelter.Being single,I can take care of myself.Let's face it. Who would want to get married in the middle of a depression? There is an old saying."Don't trouble trouble
until trouble troubles you." Life is tough enough. Why would I bring more trouble into my life by taking on more responsibilty in these tough times? After the Stock Market fell 512 points,I did not have the stomach to go online to look at my mutual funds. The result would not have been pretty.
In 2010,I was unemployed for ten months.I thank God that I had the wisdom to put some of my income away for savings. Also,I have been married twice and divorced twice.Yet, I am thankful that I have NO spousal support and NO child support to pay.

I feel sometimes that being single is both a blessing and a curse. Of course me being a single, 52 yr old, mother of 2 teenagers, moderate income woman, plays into that for sure. Some days it would be SO helpful to have a partner, for companionship, for helping to fix things I can't as a woman, and for financial too. But along with that comes losing some of my free time, being able to come and go as I please, being as clean or dirty as I feel at the moment (in housekeeping not hygene lol). For the right person I would give all that up in a heartbeat, but for now I am content to be where ever God places me at the moment. Everyone has a blessing or two they can count if they choose. Of course the biggest blessing is what Christ already did for us on the cross. Everything else kind of pales in comparison.
