  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

One post is entitled,"OK,I HATE being single"
Has anyone ever thought, during this recession that may turn into a depression, that being single NOW may be a GOOD thing? For us men,it may just well be. Since us men are supposed to be the bread winners, having a wife and a couple of children to support in this bad economy could be very stressful. Now,I am greatfull that God has provided me with my physical needs. Those needs being food, water, clothes, and shelter.Being single,I can take care of myself.Let's face it. Who would want to get married in the middle of a depression? There is an old saying."Don't trouble trouble
until trouble troubles you." Life is tough enough. Why would I bring more trouble into my life by taking on more responsibilty in these tough times? After the Stock Market fell 512 points,I did not have the stomach to go online to look at my mutual funds. The result would not have been pretty.
In 2010,I was unemployed for ten months.I thank God that I had the wisdom to put some of my income away for savings. Also,I have been married twice and divorced twice.Yet, I am thankful that I have NO spousal support and NO child support to pay.:)

I reject the notion that men are to be the bread winners as in the only bread winners. That was a post WW2 things that worked because of our prosperity at the time. Most of history men and woman worked as a team in a division of labor there both were adding to the wealth of the family. Kids also added starting at a very young age.

Now its very hard today for kids to be anything other than a drag financially. But the a woman can clearly go out to work and bring back some bacon.

Now I quite enjoy living alone during the week where I can be who I want to be. Then on the weekend I enjoy my GF by living at her house. So we both get the best of both worlds.

Glad to hear that you potentially might have the start of a relationship exit. I feel sometimes that being single is both a blessing and a curse. Of course me being a single, 52 yr old, mother of 2 teenagers, moderate income woman, plays into that for sure. Some days it would be SO helpful to have a partner, for companionship, for helping to fix things I can't as a woman, and for financial too. But along with that comes losing some of my free time, being able to come and go as I please, being as clean or dirty as I feel at the moment (in housekeeping not hygene lol). For the right person I would give all that up in a heartbeat, but for now I am content to be where ever God places me at the moment. Everyone has a blessing or two they can count if they choose. Of course the biggest blessing is what Christ already did for us on the cross. Everything else kind of pales in comparison.
