• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

There are approximately two million members in A.A. today. Thousands are Christians. Today there is no requirement that one be a Christian to belong to A.A. In 1935, A.A. was a Christian Fellowship, and that is documented. Furthermore, every newcomer was required to profess belief in God and also to come to Him through accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Undocumented accusations do not merit reply. But information that is documented about Bible study, prayer meetings, new birth, and Christian literature can be found in many of my 46 published books on A.A. history and Christian Recovery.

AA history goes back to the oxford group were in oxford group writings does it talk about the blood of JESUS. Jehovah witnesses use part of the Bible just like the early AAs . According to AA cult leader Bob Darrel AA recovery rate 1,2 or 3 percent spontaneous remission 5 percent its higher then AA. Pray at the beginning and at the end of a meeting who are these non christian praying to why would you pray with someone praying to buddha alllah if your a christian.

AA not christian Bill W took acid and cheated on his faithful wife. AA is a cult they hate JESUS and anything christian.

AA was started by Christians at the Oxford Group. Bill W was a Christian, Catholic I think. I know an old timer who knew Bill W and his wife. He said Bill never would have gotten away with cheating on his wife. According to my source she had him under her thumb.

Bill did take acid though. He eventually stopped because people were telling him it was bad for the fellowship, bad example as he was a guy they looked up to for starting the program. Its something they don't tell newcomers unless they ask about it.

AA helps people who would otherwise be hopeless drunks to get sober. It works, I've seen it work.

The ouija board got moving in earnest. What followed was the fairly usual experience it was a strange melange of Aristotle.,St Francis, diverse archangles with odd names, deceased friends some in purgatory and others doing nicely, thank you! There were malighn and mischievous ones of all descriptions, telling of vices quite beyond my ken, even as former alcoholics. Then , the seemingly virtuous entities would elbow them out with messsages of comfort, information, advice and sometimes just sheer nonsense.(from pass it on,pg 278, the official biography of Bill Wilson. ---Bill Wilson founder of AA was no christian practice devil worship and took acid and cheated on his faithful wife its in a movie about him. Dick B just out to make a buck off christians in AA the oxford group said they were christian but theres no talk of JESS Blood in there writings instead you confesss your sins in front of a room fool of people oxford group exspressed to do to be right with GOD oxford group was a cult just like the mega cult AA.The big book says nothing about repenting of sin trust me Ive been to over a thousand meetings made me spiritually sick my first sponsor went to prison for child molestation got out and joined the AA cult said he was a christian put my trust in him and he told me JESUS was not GOD.Dick B is a sharlaton out to make money off AA which is against AA traditions highly doubt hes even an alcoholic just a man looking to make money off a lie.

I wouldn't know about that. My sponsors aren't and weren't convicted felons. They never talk to me about Christianity. They talk about a God of my understanding. I guess if you pick people like that to sponsor you then maybe your experience would be different than mine. I choose sponsors who have > 5 years of sobriety and make a decent living and seem happy with their lives. Because that is the kind of sobriety I want.

And... I now have > 5 years of sobriety, make a decent living and am mostly happy with my life. Funny how that worked out.
