I also remember when the hole that is in the ground now was the hole that started the twin towers...watching them grow floor by floor..taking my church youth groups up to the top of the tower....remembering when sky divers jumped from the top of tower one...

I made it into the city and the audition todayI was fine until the way home when I passed the area again where I was stuck in 9/11/01.
The radio was going my Christian station was on they had the Presidents speech from that day and the news reports from that day and I just lost it....I was just crying and I felt such pain when I finally got over the Verrazano bridge I was exhausted and drained and now I am just plain ornery so I am not sure I will be online tonight I am going to watch the rest of the 911 movie which will probably make me worse... post my blog and call it a night I'm not feeling playful today.
Anyway just wanted to let everyone know I was alive and say thanks for your prayers.

Not sure how the blessing thing works. I just saw this link in the women's forum.

I feel like my life is a constant reminder of 9/11. Most people can live day to day and remember one day a year. But for those who have been touched, whether they lost a loved one or were there or have a family member fighting in the war on terror, the memories are a daily occurance.

I cannot even watch the news because my feelings are too raw. I haven't heard from my husband and only know that he's not safe as I write this and I worry. The 9/11 attacks were not a one day attack. People are still dying and people are still consumed with hate.

The best way to remember 9/11? Pray. Pray for those who were directly touched by a loved one's loss. Pray for those who are still laying their lives on the line while most of us can go with our daily lives forgetting that they are willing to sacrifice their lives for us.

edited to add: thank you so much RGL1, Henaynei, Glenda Joanne, KimberlyAnn, HisLambGabby, Rut and just anybody else who has said prayers for my husband. I seriously cannot even tell you how that touches me. Okay, I admit, I'm a blubbering mess right now but thank you.

It Happened September 11, 2001
God's Building An Army
Author Unknown
It was late one Tuesday evening,
Before a mother finally sat down,
To tell her only child about the terror
That hit downtown.

As she looked into the eyes of the son
That she loved so,
She felt her heart begin to break
And the hurt begin to show.

She gathered all her strength and courage,
Her story she began to tell.
"Baby don't cry, but I'm afraid daddy
Might be underneath a building that fell."

The boy looked back at his mother,
His eyes made not one blink.
And the mother's tears began to fall.
What would her son think?

You see, his dad is a firefighter,
And his hero from the day of his birth.
He loved his dad more than anything else
That could ever inherit this earth.

The mother's head began to drop,
Her forehead resting on her palm.
She thought her son would be upset.
Instead, he was very calm.

The boy leaned over towards his mom,
And put his small hand on her head.
In her ear he began to whisper,
And this is what he said:

"Mommy please don't cry,
I knew daddy wasn't coming home.
I talked to him just a while ago,
Only it wasn't on the phone.

He told me that he loved me,
And he promised we'd meet again.
And he told about his new home,
And his new job he was to begin."

The boy explained that "God is building an army,
and he told of all the angels he needed.
And, that, is where daddy and the others went.
They weren't all defeated."

It was then, the mother lifted her head.
The tears streamed down her face,
And she could feel her husband's presence,
as it filled her heart with grace.

It was then she knew her son was right.
He was in God's army now.
She also knew her son would always be safe,
that he'd be kept from harm somehow.

So, let the evil-doers of the world beware.
An army is on the way,
And it's just been revived with a few thousand new angels.
They've started the dawn of a new day.

This army's commander has never been beaten.
His power has never been matched,
And if these monsters think he was almighty before......
Well, the surface has just been scratched!

Sister my heart goes out to you my eyes are still swollen from the crying I have done today.
Dear Lord,
Please keep my sister's husband safe while he is away defending our country. May he know that we support what he is doing we are proud of him and we thank him, and appreicate that he has put his life on the line so we may have peace and safety for our children and our homleand.
Lord keep him safe keep his wife and family strong bring him home safely dear Lord.
I ask this in the precious name of Jesus.
Amen
