I once knew a man back when I explored Europe, who claimed a similar thing but I ultimately lost contact with said fellow due to an episode with a booking system and flights outbound in two directions. Said fellow apparently felt at least a temporary discernment upon a couple of pilgrim trails.
One in Ireland and one in Iceland.

Prayer is always appropriate.

Lots of folks believe they have discernment which is good. But discerning of spirits is underneath the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Discerning of spirits (through His Spirit) as in I Cor 12 and 14:1.

Discerning of spirits -distinguishes the source - either evil or Godly spirits One example -. Ananias put the money "laid it at the apostles' feet." In spite of what they saw, "But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?" (Acts 5:3) The same for his wife (v 9) Another example - a girl followed Paul "and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18 And this she did for many days." (Acts 16) Even though she spoke the truth, she had the spirit of divination and Paul cast it out.

It's not the discerning of evil spirits only.

Then here's an example of the Godly - "And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision." (Gal 2:9).

My late pastor, years ago used to say the gifts are similar to a rainbow, sometimes you can't tell that when they blend together or exactly which one is operating. You said you see the inner soul. You see a vision or you just have it come to your spirit and have some understanding about it? If it is a vision then the discernment of spirits, if just a inward witness or knowing, then likely a word of knowledge or prophecy.

That may not be as distinct as you like, "the secrets of his heart are disclosed" seems like a word of knowledge, as it is about the past. Jesus did this with the woman who had the various husbands. He knew the condition of her soul and some things about her past. She called him a prophet.

I knew an evangelist too who said he could see people's hearts and knew their condition and even some of the sins they were involved in. There others too that see demons, angels, have visions or words about the condition of a certain person. For such ministers almost always there is some action to take. It can be helpful in healing, deliverance or bring that person to Christ.
Once after a service, I saw a famous charismatic pastor on more than one occasion say something to a person after a service that was life changing. Once a man just walked by, the pastor asked him if he was filled with the Holy Ghost, the man said no, the pastor just reached out laid his hands on him briefly and the man began to speak in tongues right in the church foyer. How did he know to pick that man? Because he was led and he was walking in the spirit.

Such gifts are helpful when someone is in a healing line or it can give clues in how or what to preach. So yes, You are starting in on a gift that could end up being even far more deep.

I next will try to answer why would God show you something like this?
If you see something like this it is unlikely for no reason at all. It could be the Holy Spirit training you at first, but if the soul is black it could be a warning about the person, or an encouragement to share with them. I would also see it as a door to seek the Lord for more information. Can God show you something specific that can be helpful to win them to Christ? Yes, that is sure possible. Some call it prophetic evangelism. When you share things right out of God's heart that includes something real specific about their past, or maybe their future, it will get their attention. So I would encourage you to seek God further and "desire earnestly the gifts of the spirit." It is fine to to ask God, why is that soul black, or what can I do to help? If you have compassion and a little bit of boldness along with that question you will be a great witness for God.

My question specifically is: I have seen that God let me see something in someone, their entire inner soul was black. I think God wanted me to ask others if they have seen the same thing, what does it mean?

It sounds like the Lord is showing you that their soul does not have His light, as in filled with His life, the revelation of Him.

I do see dark people at times and often feel it is regarding their inner condition.

God has also shown me revelation of Himself and his word as light. For instance, once i prayed and fasted for another and on the third day i saw a heart, then light flooded that heart.

I would say in your case the darkness most likely represents a soul that is devoid of God's light / revelation.

It's also important to distinguish between "discernment" and "discerning of spirits"

Discernment is something we grow into by growing in the Word and the knowledge of God by his Spirit.

Oftentimes we can discern when something is off / wrong because we know his Word and Heart / Spirit ... And we are all still growing there.

Discerning of spirits is a revelatory gift by his Spirit. Within our spirits the Lord's Spirit will reveal to us the source behind something (satanic, human, or Godly).

Discerning of spirits can confirm what we are discerning.

I would say that is true for those who are given the calling, but I don’t have the calling and have had my spirit tell me I am with an evil person or in danger. It wasn’t obvious. One the other hand, I have met people who live close to God, and I knew it with a mere glance. Both cases are rare. It might be a momentary gift for a situation.

Thank you for your response. I have to say though, well-known charismatic pastors are all not real Christians. It's important for me to say because of others reading what you have said. Because you trust famous pastors I can't accept anything else you have said. I don't mean to be rude, just saying the truth. Jesus calls that obedience. I hope you seek God to be a lot closer to Him and ask Him about famous pastors, how they are all false.

Ok, certainly your choice in what you can accept. If it is a doctrinal issue you have with Charismatics, not all Charismatics are the same. I don't see how it could be that one is "famous" if they are giving the glory to God. Sad that you lump them all in one group though. I hope you can discern people and doctrine individually and according to the word rather than quick judgments.

One should be careful about giving the devil and his minions too much credit. They are real and do great harm, but the world would still have plenty of evil in it without them.

It's best to avoid absolutes.

Know of a couple of incidents when some were so sure certain manifestations were demonic. Then it happened to them. One guy who had been very boisterous left the chuch.

With discerning of spirits, our opinions do not count. Sometimes it seems, it's one of the first lessons.

Famous just means well-known. It is far to great a generalisation to say that all well-known Christians are secret satanists. Charles Haddon Spurgeon, John Bunyan, David Livingstone, Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and many others are or were well-known Christians. Are you saying that they all worshipped Satan?

It doesn't matter if they are able to put on a show of being godly, loving and kind, the devil has evil spirits that he can use to make it look like someone has godly fruit and behavior. It doesn't matter if it looks like they healed someone, or has specific information that sounds prophetic, they can get that from the devil and make it look like they're real. They do that all the time. The devil controls all the famous "Christians" so he can project the image of what a Christian should look like, to fool certain people and also to repel certain people.

Yes, you are absolutely right. You know them by their fruits. Are they getting people saved and doing what the Lord desires and do they have sound doctrine? The fruit of the spirit is in their too though. I know charismatic apstors that have been at the same church for over 40 years. It would be rare for that stability to be from the devil, but of course all this is a personal matter between each individual and God. It is hard to discern sometimes, The Pharisees sure missed it but I pray we will not. God bless.

Yes, they accused Jesus too of casting out devils by the power of Satan. The whole point of discernment is to have the Holy Spirit show you. Some do this well others do not. Now this particular discernment is not necessarily the gift operating but instead:
Hebrews 5:14 (KJV)
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

I do not judge based on success. I look for just what is described in the last reply, sound doctrine, fruit and are they advancing the kingdom. That is why I love men of God like the late Charles Stanley, Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham. You certainly do not have to be from a charismatic church to bear fruit. But those preaching and teaching gifts are not the same as much of the gifts of the spirit. If one asks about who sees angels/demons it is the charismatics that are more open to have those things revealed. Sure some of it is garbage, possible even Satanic. False prophets and gifts rarely hide in churches that reject the gifts of the spirit. No those gifts more often than not reside in those who risk and have faith to use them. Many are quite well trained too over the years but if you reject everyone out of hand, it would seem to make use of those senses void as the scripture implies.

I was given this gift over 30 years ago. Acquiring the humility to use it properly has taken my entire Christian life. This is still very much a work in progress.
My suggestion to anyone who believes they might have this gift is simply this, keep it to yourself, and pray fervently that Christ, along with this gift, give to you His heart for the world. But be warned, along with His heart comes great sorrow, and great responsibility.

Jesus Himself called certain false professing godly people of His time sons of the devil, so it's not wrong to identify some who claim to follow God as false. The Bible speaks of apostates of the end times being very numerous. It's Biblical for many who claim to be Christian in the end times to be lukewarm and false. The falling away has to come first, where many are apostate, then the Great Tribulation. All of those men Charles Stanley, Jerry Falwell, and Billy Graham were high ranking demonic secret satanists. This is how they control people and turn them apostate. You show that you do not have discernment by not understanding that, and I don't mean to be rude when saying it.

Come on, if Charles Stanley was a satanist, nobody is going to be saved then. I think you are into too much alarmist content and conspiracy theories.

He was a secret satanist for sure. Just because someone appears godly and is respected by many doesn't mean they are godly. Many people are very deceived about him. Everyone in Noah's time was obviously deceived themselves also. God called Noah alone godly enough to find grace in the eyes of God. God destroyed the whole earth besides him and his family, 8 people. And God only saved his family because of him. He alone was godly in his time. And the Bible says the end times would be just like the days of Noah. Not many are real Christians God accepts.

The bible says wickedness would increase but also that He will pour His Spirit over all flesh.

I have to say that the people you mentioned, I don't know enough about them to say if they are evil or not. I would have to research and pray. What I mean by all famous Christians are secret satanists is all the people in the world who are famous and living right now and claim to be Christian.

But that is still, in my opinion, a gross generalisation. How do you know that every person who is famous/well-known, and claims to be a Christian is a secret Satanist? Just as you say you don't know enough about the well-known historical Christians I mentioned to say whether or not they were evil, surely the same is true about your knowledge of well-known Christians living today. Unless you claim close personal knowledge of every famous person alive today who claims to be a Christian, you cannot rightly say that they are all secret satanists.
