I made this model because I couldn't find a modern crucifix to my liking. It is designed on a computer and printed on a 3D printer. Impressive technology.

I was thinking about 3d yesterday.

I am having a real hard time trying to learn what it actually is.

How do you get an engine or something out of a printer?

How do you get a knick nack out of a printer?

3d printing is becoming very popular. It's revolutionizing manufacturing for the future. Many speculate that almost all massed produced and manufactured goods will be 3d printed in the future from toys and artistic sculptures to cloths and even cars and military equipment, fully funtional. Basically a printer prints out a 3d digital file flat layer by flat layer from almost any material in powder form on top of each until it builds up to a real live scuplted replica of the digital file. The layers are bonded together by laser technology.
