Our Daily Bread
By the following scriptures we should be able to tell that Jesus is the Word of God, And He was made flesh. It also shows that the Word is God.
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Now that we know that the Word of God was made flesh in Jesus Christ, We can read the following scriptures and see how the Word of God, being Jesus, is also the bread of life.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
From the previous scriptures we should be able to gather that Jesus is the bread of life, which is the Word of God. Let's read on.
Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
We must live by Every Word of God. Where do we find Gods Every Word? In our Bibles! This is why it's important to read, and study our Bibles.
This is why in the Lords Prayer it says...
Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
We must study Gods Word daily. We should study our Bibles at home every day. Not just at church on a weekly basis. I will touch on the importance of this in my next post, If I add everything that needs to be said to this one it would be far too long of a post.
I think you will be able to see before long, that not only our daily reading and study of Gods Word is important, but also how we go about the way we study it, and even more so the way we study it together. For when we study it together we are indeed breaking bread with one another.
