If you don't have a virus scaner on you computer, HOW do you know you don't have a virus? Huh??HeatherJay said:We don't even have a virus scan on our computer these days. Is it really necessary? We haven't had any problems with a virus in probably 3 years.
If we don't know it's there and it hasn't caused a problem in years, then how can it be called a virus?Durelen said:If you don't have a virus scaner on you computer, HOW do you know you don't have a virus? Huh??
But seriously, the most damaging viruses are the ones you don't even know are there.
Well thanks for making me worry, DurelenDurelen said:Because a virus can collect any information on your computer, like credit card numbers, passwords, bank accounts, names, locations, e-mail addys and send them all to a remote location (i.e. the guy who wrote the virus) where he collects the stolen info and uses it or sells it. It's called identity theaft and is the leading reason for virus attacks now. Often the virus will sneak in as a "Trojan Virus" attached to another progran and you may never know you have it in your computer.
