1. "I'm sorry I was late, my child got sick and threw up all over me."
2. "I'm sorry I was late, there was a police check point, and I couldn't exactly say "sorry officer, I can't get out of the car for you, because it'll make me late for work"."

Ew... I always had trouble in that area. I hate to hurt anyone's feelings. But, then, I also hate to be stuck in an unpleasant situation too. Okay...I'll try.

1. I'm sorry. I know I said I would go out with you. But, I'm just not ready to date.
2. I'm sorry, but I only date tall men. (that's not exactly nice. But, it's what my grandmother used to say to her suiters. (Grandpa was tall too) )
3. I'm afraid I'm busy that night. And that night too. Nope, I just checked my calendar and it looks like I'm booked through 2010. Sorry.

I'm going to google that castle Renee. Some of ancestors are apparently from Scotland according to my Mom. And I've always had a thing for Sean Connery. It's the accent. Don't you love a Scottish accent?

It is located on the Isle of Skye I believe and still occupied by the Clan McLeod, which are my mothers ancestors. I would love to be able to take her there while she is still on this earth!!

Thanks. I did google it. I didn't know it was the castle used in the movie Highlander. (one of my all time favorites) or in that new Disney movie with Dr. Mc. Dreamy. It's beautiful Renee. (when you go, I want to go too. )

I don't know. That's hard to think of without provocation. I usually just use whatever one is appropriate for the situation. They kind of fly into my head. (but I think it's funny that you don't like cliche's. My mother doesn't like them either. She said her mother was always talking in them. And I guess it annoyed her after awhile. I love them though. Sorry if I've used them and it annoyed you.
