  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sorry that no one has answered you yet, this chess forum is rarely visited. Yeah there is a 4 move mate, the most common one I think is called Scholars Mate.

There are lots of different opening traps and stuff . Not all of them have names though. You might be able to find some of them on the internet somewhere.

I'm new to this part of the forum so I'm not sure if this has been asked, but a long time ago, my mom told me there was a way to win at chess with only 3 or 4 moves. There is a name for it, but I cant remember it. Anyone heard of it?
Its called blitz kreig but it only works if your oppenent does not make wise moves. You can actually win with 2 moves if your oppenent makes really bad moves. This one is called fools mate.

The fastest mate in Chess is a 2-move checkmate called the "Fools Mate"

Yeah it's called a fool's mate. Basically you pull out your bishop and queen to attack the pawn in front of your opponant's king's bishop. It can also be done with your knight and queen or bishop and knight. However if your opponant knows what you're doing you waste your chance of having a good opening.

The Fool's mate is pretty hard to achieve in a real game unless you're trying to lose, but many beginners fall victim to the four move mate. This annoying opening consists of bringing out the bishop and queen early and attacking the death pawn. This mate, however, can be easily countered if you know what you're doing and cause disastrous results for whoever put it into play.

There is actually a ten move counter checkmate that we teach children
(for black to checkmate white)to play in response to the kids who continue
to try and force Scholar's mate.

Scholar's mate is 4 moves for white to checkmate black. Fool's mate is
2 moves for black to checkmate white.

I actually have a 3 move (or is it 4 move? Brains not working this early) checkmate, but it requires your opponent to move very specific pieces in order, and if they don't move those pieces, then it wont work.

Chess is always so much easier if your opponent moves the way you want them to. :D
