• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It's nearly 4 months since my Grandad died (On the 8th of January - a day after his birthday).
He was always a man who had faith in Jesus, so I'm sure he will be looked after well.
They owned a successful sports centre somewhere around Brisbane and supported many local schools in the school holidays. He also was a parish worker for his local church, and helped grow the number of people going every week.
There was 1 song that we picked for the funeral in particular which had a story behind it. He had a passion ffor music since he played in a band at an early age. That song was O how I love Jesus. How does the story go? Well, some of the (older) grandsons that he had would gather around something like the accordian and sing it. 2 of them however just ran away every time :p (Unfortunately, I wasn't around then).

To be honest, the part I remember out of him was that he used to play in a band which would reguarly go to nursing homes and sing for the people there. Plus, going to church with him sommetimes when we were able to.
You could say that he is the person who influenced me to become some-what musical, which is true. Plus to believe in Christianity a lot more.
