I did like seeing Artz again, but I didn't like the spider thing. At least not Nikki just happening to getting bit out of the blue right after intentinally throwing a spider on Pablo. I mean why hasn't anyone else gotten biten?
So, here's the part that I had to question... When Paulo returned to the Pearl Hatch by himself to hide the Russian Doll, did he close the hatch door behind him? Wasn't the hatch door concealed with grass, sticks and dirt in order to hide it? If Paulo entered by himself, he wouldn't have been able to recover the door with all of the dirt. SO..... why didn't Ben and Juliette notice?
And why were Ben and Juliette, these "others" that are so good at covering their tracks leave their walkie talkie when they left the Pearl?
Ha, maybe that was why they were introduced into the show. This episode was a clever way of having one of those clip shows where they catch everyone up before moving the season along. Instead of having a "best moments" episode (like they did last year), they did it through the eyes of a couple of despensible characters.
Good call!I think that was the pheromones that Artz was telling Nikki about in the flashback. When the pheromones are released, it attracts swarms of other spiders. Paulo smooshed the spider that bit him on the neck and got its ugh all over his hand, so that probably released the scent and attracted the spiders that bit Nikki.
Here is an interesting article about last night's episode.

What I didn't want to see was Paulo and Nikki! The best thing about this episode is that they got killed — because at least I know my time will never be wasted on those two ever again.''
