  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

"20. For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

21. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

I know how many of the Baptists view this, from both OSAS side, and free-will side. I would like to see the various interpretations, and other reference verses on the topic. Especially of the latter part of verse 20, (latter end), and (the beginning), what you view they would be. I do not wish to engage in debate or discussion, but find out how others view this scripture. Thank You if you do.

I don't have an expert opinion on this, but it sounds like common sense to me. There are Christians who come to know the way, but later become lukewarm in their faith or stray away from it. Ethically speaking, I would say that greater responsibility rests on those who have done something wrong while being fully aware of the implications of their actions, than those whose wrongdoing was done in ignorance. Similarly, more harshly would be judged those who came to know the Truth and then denied it, than those who've never had the chance to become acquainted with Christ in the first place.
