• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Need Christmas prayer...etc.

This may come across strange to some but I have an urgent request. First and foremost, we need prayer. My husband has been out of work now for several months and now his unemployment checks have run out. He has been actively seeking employment but we live in such a rural area that jobs are hard to find for him. We know that God will provide him with one in His own time but we just wish it would be soon with Christmas coming up and all. We have 3 little girls ages 4, 6 and 8 and we are concerned that Christmas will be very lean this year. Well, even if he found a job tomorrow, Christmas would be lean anyways. But we do have each other and God and that's what counts.
Our other problem is that with such limited income, our house is less than 2 months from going into forclosure. We are currently 3 months behind in our payments and out bank has told us we have less than 60 days to catch up or they will start the process of foreclosure. Again, we are putting our trust in the Lord and we know that He will get us through this but he gave us brains to use wisely. Herein lies the request we use reluctantly. We have discussed our situation with our individual disciplers and our pastor and all agree that we should be creative if necessary in meeting our needs. Creative in the Lord with His blessings of course.
I am sorry if I seem to be rambling but I am very concerned as you can probably tell. Christmas still has it's true meaning here but the small children don't understand and I don't know what to say the them.
Thank you for letting me bend your ear and for anything you can do for us.

Agape,

D

James 2:15: "If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?"

Christians are quick to "pray". I think your individual disciplers and pastor may do well to read what God's Word has to say about being "creative". They may start with the above verses.

I have thus prayed.

I sat home all day today. No car and our telephone was cut of for non-payment. I am so tired. Can't stand this much longer. I have prayed and prayed but I must not be doing something right. I know that God will help but I keep thinking that it might be too late. I feel like i'm sinking fast. I just keep thinking about my children and Christmas coming up. Someone anonamously sent ten dollars to our paypal account today that a church member helped us set up and that was a blessing. Whoever you are, thank you very very much and may God bless you!!
All prayers gratefully accepted!!!

Buggy,

Thanks a lot for our prayers. Its less than 2 weeks till Christmas and no presents under our tree. The children keep asking why and i'm tired of telling them that there will be some soon. It's all a lie. I have no money and none expected any time soon. Our gas was cut off last week so we had no hot water for a while. I had to give them my last $45 to turn it back on so the children could take warm baths. I was hoping to use that money on Christmas for them.
I am just too tired from all the worry. I know it's a sin to worry like I do but what else can I do? Husband still has no job leads. Everyone keeps telling him to come back after the holidays and maybe then they can help. Thats too late to put presetns under the tree for the girls.
God, please help us! I can't take much more. I've never been this depressed and my children can tell something is wrong.

Praying for you Diane....

Keep the faith my sister, from one who's been in your situation, I can tell you that God will provide for your family.

I hope the following scripture brings you comfort (it's one of my favorite when facing the unknown in life)

Luke 12

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows

Trust in God, for he has great things in store for you and yours.

Your brother in Christ,
Rick

Diane,

As an afterthought,

You might want to check and see if there is a Credit Consumer Counseling Service (Sponsored by the United Way) in your local area. They are very good at intervening with creditors before you are forced into legal action. Being proactive with the bank usually works best. Trust me, it's not their desire, or in their best interest to foreclose on your home. If you haven't already, you may want to take your situation to someone higher in the bank. VP's can grant extensions on your mortgage. I received one last year when I was out of work for 3 months. I've been there...I know what you are facing. Trust in God...

My heart goes out to you Diane,
You might want to be honset with your children and let them know the truth. They have the greatest gift of all, the Gift of eternal life, that was given to them through the birth of Jesus. I know it will be hard, but trust in God to bless them when they hear the truth.

I agree... My own Parents didn't have money either.. But we never knew that because they gave us their Love and honesty. And That was Priceless.Years later when things got better.. we enjoyed the gift we got.
Diane.. Children are understanding when they see times are tough and they see you struggling. So tell them that because times are hard right now they may not recieve any gift.
Whatever you do ..make sure they understand that it's not their fault.

Still Praying for a Miracle...
