It will never happen. The Sun is blowing this WAY out of proportion, so much so that I live in Texas and haven't even heard a peep about this until your thread.

But, if Texas were to secede I would choose Texas over the United States without even a second thought.

Those aren't even states, just saying.

Citizens, not the state governments. The title is deceptive by saying describing this as a state action when the states actually have nothing to do with these petitions.

I agree that nothing will come of it. The US has long abandoned the right to withdraw from the Union. That was the reason for the war of Northern Aggression or the American Civil War.
