This is a little off-topic but I think the only standing ovation and to be honest with you, IMO that they gave for at least five minutes to were saluating the three former anchormen who dominated the airwaves for nearly a quarter of a century. Tom Brokaw, the late Peter Jennings, and Dan Rather.
There didn't seem to be a dry-eye in the audience at all.
When Tom & Dan were about in tears saluating their now departed friendly rival at ABC, Peter.
And what it would had been like for all three of them to stand all together on stage for the first time had Peter not passed away.
What that would had been like. I am glad that if they had an honest standing ovation, it should had been for those three, and most of all, to the late Peter Jennings. I really think that those men deserved a long standing ovation indeed!
