CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Went to my 10th had a blast!
Did not go to my 20th.
Went to my 30th, had a great time, and decided it would be my last one. There were alot of people that hadn't changed IYKWIM. Some people got SO drunk and I thought what a waste that would be but to each his own.
I didn't hook up with anyone that I wished I never lost touch with, so.....but the people from my class have been getting together a least once a month or every other month since the reunion but I live in a different state now, plus like I said there really wasn't anyone that I ran into that I was like "wow I wish we never lost touch" so.. BUT I had a fabulous time.
I think you should go to yours and do the same! Have a blast!

I have gotten in touch with so many of them on facebook that i am hoping it will be just as much fun. The only thing that is bothering me is that I am single going. But I am looking forward to it.

Well alot of people when I went to my reunion were either single or divorced, and it could be a plus to be going single. Are there any men you would like to see from high school? Anyway I went to both my reunions stag. The first one, my husband didn't want to go anyway, and he didn't know anybody, so I knew I would have more fun if he weren't there. The last one, he had passed away, so....but I probably still would have gone stag...so you really shouldn't feel bad about that and you could meet someone there, ya never know......

I went to mine and had a good time. Things changed alot, about 25 or so have passed on. Many of the guys I was on baseball team with have passed on there only three of us left.
The people that were jerks arn't anymore. The handsome folks arn't handsome anymore.
The best thing that happened at my reunion was that someone share with me about importants in having a growing relationship with God. We had a great time sharing on how God has worked in our lives.
So all in all I had a great time. God has a plan for you if you go. I think it's good to be open to it. Think of it a mini mission trip that what I did.

I am just going to have fun and see what happens. I actually had 2 this yar. I had to leave one school and graduated from anotherbut the one I am going to is group I was in school with from 1st grade onto my sophomore year. I got an invite to that one and not to the one I graduated from.

My sister is going to her 20 year reunion this weekend and is really looking forward to it. My BIL will get to meet her two closest friends (who are married now) from HS, so she's super excited about that.
She and I were just talking about it this afternoon on my lunch break. I went to my ten year and was telling her the same thing that wildthing said about the jerks not being jerks and the popular people just being normal people now.
I am connected with a lot of people from the HS I would have graduated from my SR year if we wouldn't have moved so that is the school I opted to go back to for the 10 yr and will go to the 20 yr in 2011. I really enjoyed going to my 10 year and anticipate my 20 yr being just as much fun.

Oh and to what Michelle said about the drunks...the one thing I noticed at the Friday night cocktail party was that all the singles congregated around the bar while the couples (married or just attached) tended to hang out in the chairs/booths. There were a few who got sloppy at the cocktail reception, but I figured out who they were pretty quick and made a point to avoid them at all costs (one guy kept hugging me and slobbering a kiss on my cheek - telling me how happy he was that I had gotten married 
).

I went to my 10 yr and 20 yr and had a great time. I was divorced with 2 kids for the 20 yr. I dragged my best friend to both. It's like she couldn't remember how much fun she had the first time. I think I even paid for the 20 yr because she was having money problems and I didn't want her to miss it. Both years she won some kind of raffle.
I have a friend in Florida who I don't get to see often, so it's always nice to catch up with her and her dh.

I don't think I can find a picture of the dress since it was bought in Dec. It's black with a deep V. Empire waisted. No sleeves. Rhinstones towards the shoulder. Right below the knee with a flounce. Really nice and understanted cocktail dress. The shoes are black 3.5 inch sandals with rhinestones ont he straps. Because my HS was red and white, I will have a red satin clutch.

My 20 year reunion is next year. We didn't have a 5 or 10 year, but we did have an unofficial 17 year reunion the year before last. It was kind of fun.
Facebook has really helped me reconnect with a lot of friends I had back in the day.

Facebook has been great. My family is scattered out among several states, but we've been able to get much closer by starting a group for the cousins.
Also, I've become close friends with several people that I went to high school with that I didn't get to know very well back then.

I agree! It's much easier to keep in contact and know what's going on with people you care about then a phone call, and also to reconnect with old high school friends.

It's hard to keep touch by phone sometimes. Last fall when I was traveling for work it was almost impossible. Plus FB makes planning get-togethers so much easier. Hoping we can all meet up and go camping in the next month or two.
