Rep. Ogles Reintroduces Bill to Federally Ban Chemical Abortions

House Republicans propose bill to restrict abortion nationwide

A group of House Republicans on Monday introduced a bill that would ban medication abortion nationwide and impose a prison sentence of up to 25 years on anyone who dispenses the drugs, which are used in the majority of abortions across the country.

"I’m taking a stand against the irresponsibility of the Democrats and working to protect women and girls across America," Republican Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee, the lead sponsor of the bill, wrote in a news release.

Republicans are targeting medication abortion even though 72% of Americans support it, according to a March 2024 Axios/Ipsos poll.

It's still up to the states, just not with chemicals. The same way that European countries won't give us the chemicals for lethal injection.

Seems like it goes against the Supreme Court decision.
I imagine it would be legal to prevent the post office from handling it, but there's FedEx and ups.
If only I could believe these Congress members really care about the unborn, but people who seem to care so little about the living must have some other motivation.

Congress is permitted to look at a decision by SCOTUS and craft a law that would lie in between the boundaries of that decision. This, (per se) is “normal”.

They’d also have to delineate betwixt legitimate uses of the “chemicals” and the illicit use, (to induce a miscarriage), they could direct the DEA to reschedule them to restrict the availability of the “chemicals”, e.g..
