Talmud Sanhedrin 38b
R. Nahman said: He who is as skilled in refuting the Minim as is R. Idith,52 let him do so; but not otherwise. Once a Min said to R. Idith: It is written, And unto Moses He said, Come up to the Lord.53 But surely it should have stated, Come up unto me! It was Metatron54 [who said that], he replied, whose name is similar to that of his Master,55 for it is written, For my name is in him.56 But if so, [he retorted,] we should worship him! The same passage, however, replied R. Idith says: Be not rebellious57 against him, i.e., exchange Me not for him. But if so,58 why is it stated: He will not pardon your transgression?59 He answered: By our troth60 we would not accept him even as a messenger,61 for it is written, And he said unto him, If Thy [personal] presence go not etc.62
Metatron is talked about in the Zohar . Rabbi Idith is saying Metatron has the name YHVH but it has different vowels. This does not mean there are two who are YHVH, but two who have the name YHVH with different vowels, therefore not the same being. There is one YHVH who is the Most High God (the heavenly Father and no other), and another YHVH who is the Anointed Yehoshua (the created elohim).
Genesis 19:24 Then YHVH rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from YHVH out of heaven,
This is one passage that talks about the two different being who have the name Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey with different vowels (and thus the exactly the same names, nor the same beings).
Let's do a test: Then YHVH rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from him out of heaven,
Who is the "him"? You see, it cannot be referring to the first YHVH, but it is referring to the second YHVH who is not the first YHVH.
Isaiah 42:8 I am YHVH, he is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to idols.
אֲנִי יהוה, הוּא שְׁמִי - Ani YHVH (I am YHVH), Hu (he) sh'mi (name): I am YHVH, he is my name. Now, who is this "he"? The "he" is referring to "YHVH"; this is Yehoshua Ha'Moshiach speaking, for he (Rabbi Yehoshua) who is the only created being that can bear the name YHVH since he (Rabbi Yehoshua) is the Representation of the only true God, the Father.
