01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

How about the fact that marriage is a sacrament between a man and a woman and is only validated by the Lord.

Because it is a sacrament- if it is not valid it does not even exist. So the term gay marriage IMO is an oxymoron.

Jesus and the OT only speak of marriage in terms of man and woman- the point is very clear.

Now someone here keeps saying that the Bible never even mentions homosexual lifestyles and therefore it is not a sin- but the Bible very clearly does speak of marriage and Jesus makes the legal/religious implications very clear when he discusses the issue of divorce.

And can quote many occurences of the context of marriage as being husband and wife yet there is not one incident of homosexual marriage in the Bible.

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

or

01) Being gay is not natural according to the standards set down by God.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

or

02) Gay marriages will encorage people to legalize other sinful acts.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

or

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of sexual sinful marriages. Like we have already seen a man marry his horse, and other mariages to other animals/pets. So it won't be long before it is ok to legalize incest, beastiality, polygamy

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

or

04) Straight marriages will continue to change to things that the world says is ok, but the word of God says isn't

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

or

05) To stupid to even waste a number with.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

or

06) Straight marriages are valid to God, and if He choses to Bless them with a child they will have children. Sadly if we had kept strong in the Lord we wouldn't have the need for orphanages, because we would have taken care of the children that lost their parents and the living parents would not have lost their children because of their sinful living.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

or

07) Obviously gay parents will raise there children to believe that the Lord doesn't call it a sin, and like all children it will be just another open door for the great deceiver to come through.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

or

08) Gay marriage is not supported by God. In a world like ours that the value of having only one God, and one way to Him, Jesus are being changed daily in the entire country.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

or

09) Children do so much better in a male and female role model home that is centered around the Lord and the values He sets out for it. As we can see by how badly children are doing when they aren't raised in a home that is centered around the Lord and the moral values that are supposed to be the way a child is raised up. So that when they are old they won't depart from it.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

or

10) Gay marriages will continue the down fall and falling away of the church, as it leans to the social norms of a fallen world. Just like all the other sins that took our life span from in the 100's during OT times to 70's for straight people and 50's for homosexuals.

My church honors and performs same-sex marriages. Not all people of faith agree with you about same-sex marriage. Not all churches take the same positions.

Life spans have been increasing, not decreasing. And where do you come up with the life span in the 50s for gay people? I'm in my 50s. Guess I'm just gonna keel over and croak soon, because I'm gay, and never mind that I'm healthy!

Also, do you then advocate that people of other faiths not have the right to marry, as their children will not be raised in Christian homes with the same beliefs you hold? That's what your number 9 suggests.

Maybe in the English version.

In the English version the Bible majority only speaks to men too, hence the use of "he". But obviously, that is just an illustration because men were the most powerful during the time it was written, so it doesn't count. (Hypocricy at it's finest if you ask me.)

Let the state do what it wants, we're in a fallen world, and if you think our country is "Christian", well you're blind. The marriage really isn't the sin anyway, given I doubt most homosexuals wait for marriage to fornicate anyway. All your reasons have nothing I won't support it, but I think there are bigger issues. But all your reasons lie in societal problems and care nothing for God's commands, and doesn't address why people oppose it because of God's command. But I guess the bible is just "some book".

I do not think the country is Christian, nor do I think it should be Christian. I think we should maintain a secular nation, to allow for freedom of religion for all. The best way for Christians to be free is to have a secular government, in my view.

I do not believe we are in a fallen world. I think the world is imperfect, certainly, because we humans are imperfect. But I do not believe we fell from anything. This is the world we have. A perfect world, or heaven, is imaginary, not real. I like living in this world, even with its many imperfections. I savor this life, and that is my focus, not some imaginary heaven.

I believe in a Father in heaven, and a son seated at his right hand, interceding on our behalf. Do not deny eternity, it is why Jesus came, to save us from our sins and re connect us with that Father who is in heaven. This is a fallen world, with abortions and lying/deceit everywhere, even within the church. I just wonder how bad we are compared to the flood days.. ><;

Wow, I thought your last comment was a joke. You actually believe that people in the times of the Old Testament lived into their 100s?

Sin is what caused death to come into the life of us all, and the more sin that is in the world has shortened the lifespan of all.

We weren't created to die, but because of sin.....................oh lets just make it simple. Yes, I believe the Bible.

Life spans have been increasing, not decreasing. And where do you come up with the life span in the 50s for gay people? I'm in my 50s. Guess I'm just gonna keel over and croak soon, because I'm gay, and never mind that I'm healthy!

I should have said studies say 50's for male homosexuals and 60's for lesbians, sorry I didn't make that clearer. Also, it doesn't say all, but the larger percentage/average.

Your answer is totally ridiculous. So just because the average life expectancy of, lets say straight white males is 70, (don't know if that number is right or not, this is just an example). So if a white male lives to 71 or heaven forbid 100 like on some of the commercials, does that mean what? Should he croak at any minute because he lived past the average? Should he kill himself because he lived past the average? Oh, I know we should have him arrested and put in jail or maybe to death because he lived past the average.

Study Indicates Homosexual Acts Shorten Lifespan
http://www.seafox.com/lifespan.html

Study after study reveals that homosexuality, whether male or female, can take anywhere from 10, 20 to 30 years off of someone's lifespan. With all the attention on smoking, which the National Cancer Institute says takes from 7 to 10 years off someone's life, why not the same human outcry on homosexuality? Here's a behavior that's killing people 2 to 3 times the rate of smoking, yet nobody seems to care. In fact, we are encouraging and affirming individuals into the "gay" lifestyle. If you truly love someone, you would steer them away from self-destructive behaviors, rather than towards them, shouldn't you? Homosexuals need our tough love, not blind love, the kind of love that is going to love them no matter what they say and do. We must extend that helping hand and say " I think your worth saving, let's work on it together."

The risk of anal cancer soars for those engaging in anal intercourse. According to one report, it rises by an astounding 4000%, and doubles again for those who are HIV positive.

Can anyone refute that anal intercourse tears the rectal lining of the receptive partner, regardless of whether a condom is worn, and the subsequent contact with fecal matter leads to a host of diseases?
Diseases to which active homosexuals are vulnerable can be classified as follows:
Classical sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, infections with Chlamydia trachomatis, syphilis, herpes simplex infections, genital warts, pubic lice, scabies); enteric diseases (infections with Shigella species, Campylobacter jejuni, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, ["gay bowel disease"], Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and cytomegalovirus); trauma (related to and/or resulting in fecal incontinence, hemorroids, anal fissure, foreign bodies lodged in the rectum, rectosigmoid tears, allergic proctitis, penile edema, chemical sinusitis, inhaled nitrite burns, and sexual assault of the male patient); and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Most other faiths believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, which is the only marriage that is spoke of by God and Jesus.

Secondly, faiths that don't believe in God and don't believe that Jesus was His son have more to worry about than marriage.

John 14:1-6
1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Yes, I know you don't believe Jesus said this.:sigh:

It might help you to not use research that isn't valid when pulled from a ridiculous organization such as NARTH.

There are STD's associated with both heterosexual and homosexual orientations. I have seen statistics slanted in every which way...but the bottom line is that there are homosexual lifestyleS, not just one. Obviously the more promiscuous an individual is, the more they increase their chances of disease.

Your anal sex "dangers" have been disproved as myths RE: fecal incontinence, anal cancer, fissures:

www.21171069.com/HIVnotequalGay8.pdf

As for anal incontinence, WOMEN, are at greatest risk, after child birth:

Fecal incontinence affects a great number of women because during childbirth, damage to
the anterior part of the anal sphincter often occur (Malouf, A. J.; Norton, C. S.; Engel, A.
F.; Nicholls, R. J.; Kamm, M. A, 2000). The risk of injury is even greater if the doctor uses
forceps to help deliver the baby or does an episiotomy (NIH, 2005). Fecal incontinence,
apparently, is also highly prevalent among older people. Long-term habits of straining to
pass stool, stroke, or diseases such as diabetes or multiple sclerosis will bring about fecal
incontinence for these individuals (NIH, 2005). Even though fecal incontinence affects so
many women and elderly, it would be preposterous to assert that since the problem is so
serious with these two populations, childbirth or old age must then be banned. It would be
as absurd to ban anal intercourse, when in fact such sexual behavior does not even
necessarily lead to fecal incontinence.

Two research studies conducted in 1993 and 1994 have been much touted as the definitive
proof to the dangers of anal intercourse. Miles, Allen-Mersh, & Wastell (1993) reported in
their study a 35% incidence of incontinence among gay males who practice anal
intercourse. And Engel, Kamm, & Bartram (1995) also reported that seven of their study
participants suffered internal and external sphincter disruptions (IES and EAS) and fecal
incontinence as a result of peno-anal penetration. A more recent 1997 study, however,
demonstrated no such linkage between anal intercourse with fecal incontinence. In Chun,
Rose, Mitrani, Silvestre, & Wald’s (1997) study, the researchers found neither increased
incidence of fecal incontinence nor anal sphincter disruptions in their study population
(anoreceptive homosexual males), compared with controls (non-anoreceptive heterosexual
males

MYTH NO. 5: Anal Intercourse among MSM Promotes Rectal Prolapse and/or
Fissures
FACT: Rectal prolapse is an anal complication unrelated to anal sex. Anal
intercourse when conducted carefully and safely does not lead to anal fissures.
Rectal prolapse is a condition “where the tissue of the rectum protrudes out of the anal
canal” (ACG, 2005). It is a close cousin of hemorrhoids, with similar symptoms such as
bleeding and/or the rectum turns itself inside out. The main difference between rectal
prolapse and hemorrhoids is that the former involves a segment of the bowel located
higher up within the body whereas the latter develops near the anal opening.
Rectal prolapse occurs predominantly in children under age 6 and the elderly (NIH, 2005).
For adults, it is often the result of a long-standing habit of low fiber and high fat diet, and n turn, a history of straining to have bowel movements. Specifically for females, rectal
prolapse can be due to anal injury during delivery. For infants and children, this condition
is associated with toilet training problems, episodes of diarrhea, whooping cough or
malnutrition (Hemorrhoids, 2005).
As for anal fissures, like rectal prolapse, this problem is mostly caused by straining to pass
hard stools through a constricted opening (Morin, 1998). Fissures can result from rough
anal sex play, if indeed pain warning signs are ignored or the use of recreational drugs
lower a person’s awareness (Morin, 1998). But as stated earlier, if anal intercourse is
conducted in a careful and safe manner, injury to the rectum can be preventable.
Clearly, the reasons for both rectal prolapse are multi-varied. And apparently, the MSM
population does not exclusively experience these conditions.

MYTH NO. 6: Anal Intercourse Causes Anal Cancer
FACT: Anal intercourse does not cause anal cancer. Anal intercourse is one of the
factors that can increase one’s risk of contracting the Human Papilloma Virus
(HPV)—a sexually transmitted virus that causes some anal cancers and cervical
cancers. Anal cancer is often curable if discovered early.
The Hong Kong Cancer Registry reports that in 2002, cancer of the rectum/anus is the
fifth and fourth most common cancer diagnosed among men and women respectively.3 The
male to female ratio was approximately 1.5 to 1.4 Anal cancer is actually rare, as in the US,
it accounts for about 1 percent of gastrointestinal malignancies (FHCRC, 2005). The exact
cause of most anal cancers remain unknown, but the majority of cases are now attributed
to infection with HPV. Researchers have found, that regardless of a person’s sexual
orientation or gender, 88 percent of tumors found in anal cancers tested positive for HPV
DNA (FHCRC, 2005). Researchers have also discovered that a current habit of smoking
also increases the risk of anal cancer by fourfold (FHCRC, 2005). There are, however,
patients with anal cancer that do not have any known risk factors and the causes of their
cancers are unknown (ACS, 2005).

Do you honestly believe these statistics apply to the people who enter into a monogamous, life long, partnership?

The Negative Health Effects of Homosexuality
Issue No.: 232
by: Timothy J. Dailey, Ph. D.

Unhealthy Aspects of "Monogamous" Homosexual Relationships. Even those homosexual relationships that are loosely termed "monogamous" do not necessarily result in healthier behavior.
· The journal AIDS reported that men involved in relationships engaged in anal intercourse and oral-anal intercourse with greater frequency than those without a steady partner.[15] Anal intercourse has been linked to a host of bacterial and parasitical sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS.
· The exclusivity of the relationship did not diminish the incidence of unhealthy sexual acts, which are commonplace among homosexuals. An English study published in the same issue of the journal AIDS concurred, finding that most "unsafe" sex acts among homosexuals occur in steady relationships.[16]
Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is a collection of more than seventy types of viruses that can cause warts, or papillomas, on various parts of the body. More than twenty types of HPV are incurable STDs that can infect the genital tract of both men and women. Most HPV infections are subclinical or asymptomatic, with only one in a hundred people experiencing genital warts.
· HPV is "almost universal" among homosexuals. According to the homosexual newspaper The Washington Blade: "A San Francisco study of Gay and bisexual men revealed that HPV infection was almost universal among HIV-positive men, and that 60 percent of HIV-negative men carried HPV."[17]
· HPV can lead to anal cancer. At the recent Fourth International AIDS Malignancy Conference at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Andrew Grulich announced that "most instances of anal cancer are caused by a cancer-causing strain of HPV through receptive anal intercourse. HPV infects over 90 percent of HIV-positive gay men and 65 percent of HIV-negative gay men, according to a number of recent studies."[18]
· The link between HPV and cervical cancer. Citing a presentation by Dr. Stephen Goldstone to the International Congress on Papillomavirus in Human Pathology in Paris, the Washington Blade reports that "HPV is believed to cause cervical cancer in women."[19]
Hepatitis: A potentially fatal liver disease that increases the risk of liver cancer.
· Hepatitis A: The Mortality and Morbidity Weekly Report published by the CDC reports: "Outbreaks of hepatitis A among men who have sex with men are a recurring problem in many large cities in the industrialized world."[20]
· Hepatitis B: This is a serious disease caused by a virus that attacks the liver. The virus, which is called hepatitis B virus (HBV), can cause lifelong infection, cirrhosis (scarring) of the liver, liver cancer, liver failure, and death. Each year in the United States, more than 200,000 people of all ages contract hepatitis B and close to 5,000 die of sickness caused by AIDS. The CDC reports that MSM are at increased risk for hepatitis B.[21]
· Hepatitis C is an inflammation of the liver that can cause cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer. The virus can lie dormant in the body for up to thirty years before flaring up. Although less so than with hepatitis A and B, MSM who engage in unsafe sexual practices remain at increased risk for contracting hepatitis C.[22]
Gonorrhea: An inflammatory disease of the genital tract. Gonorrhea traditionally occurs on the genitals, but has recently appeared in the rectal region and in the throat. Although easily treated by antibiotics, according to the cdc only "about 50 percent of men have some signs or symptoms, and "many women who are infected have no symptoms of infection."[23] Untreated gonorrhea can have serious and permanent health consequences, including infertility damage to the prostate and urethra.
· A CDC report documents "significant increases during 1994 to 1997 in rectal gonorrhea . . . among MSM," indicating that "safe sex" practices may not be taken as seriously as the aids epidemic begins to slow.[24] In 1999 the CDC released data showing that male rectal gonorrhea is increasing among homosexuals amidst an overall decline in national gonorrhea rates. The report attributed the increase to a larger percentage of homosexuals engaging in unsafe sexual behavior.[25]
· The incidence of throat Gonorrhea is strongly associated with homosexual behavior. The Canadian Medical Association Journal found that "gonorrhea was associated with urethral discharge . . . and homosexuality (3.7 times higher than the rate among heterosexuals)."[26] Similarly, a study in the Journal of Clinical Pathology found that homosexual men had a much higher prevalence of pharyngeal (throat) gonorrhea--15.2 percent compared with 4.1 percent for heterosexual men.[27]
Syphilis: A venereal disease that, if left untreated, can spread throughout the body over time, causing serious heart abnormalities, mental disorders, blindness, and death. The initial symptoms of syphilis are often mild and painless, leading some individuals to avoid seeking treatment. According to the National Institutes of Health, the disease may be mistaken for other common illnesses: "syphilis has sometimes been called 'the great imitator' because its early symptoms are similar to those of many other diseases." Early symptoms include rashes, moist warts in the groin area, slimy white patches in the mouth, or pus-filled bumps resembling chicken pox.[28]
· According to the CDC, "transmission of the organism occurs during vaginal, anal, or oral sex."[29] In addition, the Archives of Internal Medicine found that homosexuals acquired syphilis at a rate ten times that of heterosexuals.[30]
· The CDC reports that those who contract syphilis face potentially deadly health consequences: "It is now known that the genital sores caused by syphilis in adults also make it easier to transmit and acquire HIV infection sexually. There is a two to five fold increased risk of acquiring hiv infection when syphilis is present."[31]
Gay Bowel Syndrome (GBS):[32] The Journal of the American Medical Association refers to GBS problems such as proctitis, proctocolitis, and enteritis as "sexually transmitted gastrointestinal syndromes."[33] Many of the bacterial and protozoa pathogens that cause gbs are found in feces and transmitted to the digestive system: According to the pro-homosexual text Anal Pleasure and Health, "exual activities provide many opportunities for tiny amounts of contaminated feces to find their way into the mouth of a sexual partner . . . The most direct route is oral-anal contact."[34]
· Proctitis and Proctocolitis are inflammations of the rectum and colon that cause pain, bloody rectal discharge and rectal spasms. Proctitis is associated with STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, and syphilis that are widespread among homosexuals.[35] The Sexually Transmitted Disease Information Center of the Journal of the American Medical Association reports that "[p]roctitis occurs predominantly among persons who participate in anal intercourse."
· Enteritis is inflammation of the small intestine. According to the Sexually Transmitted Disease Information Center of the Journal of the American Medical Association, "enteritis occurs among those whose sexual practices include oral-fecal contact."[36] Enteritis can cause abdominal pain, severe cramping, intense diarrhea, fever, malabsorption of nutrients, weight loss.[37] According to a report in The Health Implications of Homosexuality by the Medical Institute for Sexual Health, some pathogens associated with enteritis and proctocolitis [see below] "appear only to be sexually transmitted among men who have sex with men."[38]

The Clinical Effectiveness and Cost-effectiveness of Screening for Anal Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions in Homosexual and Bisexual HIV-Positive Men

Context Homosexual and bisexual men infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are at increased risk for human papillomavirus–related anal neoplasia and anal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).
Objective To estimate the clinical benefits and cost-effectiveness of screening HIV-positive homosexual and bisexual men for anal squamous intraepithelial lesions (ASIL) and anal SCC.
Design Cost-effectiveness analysis performed from a societal perspective that used reference case recommendations from the Panel on Cost-Effectiveness in Health and Medicine. A state-transition Markov model was developed to calculate lifetime costs, life expectancy, and quality-adjusted life expectancy for no screening vs several screening strategies for ASIL and anal SCC using anal Papanicolaou (Pap) testing at different intervals. Values for incidence, progression, and regression of anal neoplasia; efficacy of screening and treatment; natural history of HIV; health-related quality of life; and costs were obtained from the literature.
Setting and Participants Hypothetical cohort of homosexual and bisexual HIV-positive men living in the United States.
Main Outcome Measures Life expectancy, quality-adjusted life expectancy, quality-adjusted years of life saved, lifetime costs, and incremental cost-effectiveness ratio. Results Screening for ASIL increased quality-adjusted life expectancy at all stages of HIV disease. Screening with anal Pap tests every 2 years, beginning in early HIV disease (CD4 cell count >0.50x109/L), resulted in a 2.7-month gain in quality-adjusted life expectancy for an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio of $13,000 per quality-adjusted life year saved. Screening with anal Pap tests yearly provided additional benefit at an incremental cost of $16,600 per quality-adjusted life year saved. If screening was not initiated until later in the course of HIV disease (CD4 cell count <0.50x109/L), then yearly Pap test screening was preferred due to the greater amount of prevalent anal disease (cost-effectiveness ratio of less than $25,000 per quality-adjusted life year saved compared with no screening). Screening every 6 months provided little additional benefit over that of yearly screening. Results were most sensitive to the rate of progression of ASIL to anal SCC and the effectiveness of treatment of precancerous lesions.

Wow, I thought your last comment was a joke. You actually believe that people in the times of the Old Testament lived into their 100s?

Life spans have been increasing, not decreasing. And where do you come up with the life span in the 50s for gay people? I'm in my 50s. Guess I'm just gonna keel over and croak soon, because I'm gay, and never mind that I'm healthy!

Also, do you then advocate that people of other faiths not have the right to marry, as their children will not be raised in Christian homes with the same beliefs you hold? That's what your number 9 suggests.

That is one of the more common likes told by the Christian right about homosexuals.

It was first fabricated by Paul Cameron after he was ejected form the APA for falsifying research about homosexuals and lying about the legitimate research findings of others. he created this myth by had picking obituaries form small press gay and lesbian newspapers form San Francisco at the height of the AIDS crisis (and by hand picked I mean he rejected any obituary where the decease was over the age of 60. he then “compared” these clippings to obituaries collected from a small town (I believe in Nebraska) and used only obituaries of women who had died while in a nursing home setting.
It’s a joke no matter how you slice it.
After the truth got out Christian sites began misrepresenting a Canadian study written by Dr. Robert Hogg and associates. Dr. Hogg was not happy about the lies being told and wrote the following letter which appeared in the Interational Journal of Epidemiology.
“Over the past several months I have received correspondence from a number of people regarding a paper I wrote with Mr. Craib and Drs. Montaner, O'Shaughnessy, Schechter, and Strathdee in the International Journal of Epidemiology on the gay and bisexual life expectancy in Vancouver in the late 1980s and early 1990s [1]. From this correspondence it appears that our research is being used by select groups in United States and other countries to suggest that gay and bisexual men live an unhealthy lifestyle that is destructive to themselves and to others. These homophobic groups appear more interested in restricting the human rights of gay and bisexuals rather than promoting their health and well being.
It is essential to note that the life expectancy of any population is a descriptive and not a prescriptive measure [3]. Death is a product of the way a person lives and what physical and environmental hazards he or she faces everyday. It cannot be attributed solely to their sexual orientation or any other ethnic or social factor. “

despite the request of the scientists to stop the false witness Christian hate sites continue to lie and make false claims about Dr. Hoggs study.

Current Research

We are a team of highly dedicated clinicians and scientists at the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center and the UCSF General Clinical Research Center. The group, led by Dr. Joel Palefsky, Professor of Medicine at UCSF, is devoted to performing research that seeks to promote awareness of and screening for AIN and anal cancer, identify the causes of AIN and anal cancer, and develop new and better therapies for these diseases.
Actively recruiting for the following clinical trials:

  1. A Study to Determine the Efficacy of a Prophylactic Vaccine for HPV to Prevent Anal and Penile HPV Infection, Anogenital Warts and Dysplasia in Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) Study objectives:
    • To demonstrate that a 3-dose regimen of quadrivalent HPV (Types 6, 11, 16, 18) L1 virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine, when administered at 0, 2, and 6 months, is generally well tolerated in 16- to 26-year-old men.
    • To demonstrate that the quadrivalent HPV VLP vaccine reduces the incidence of HPV 6-, 11-, 16-, or 18 related anogenital warts and dysplasia in 16- to 26-year-old men who are naïve to the relevant HPV type, compared with placebo.

Study Indicates Homosexual Acts Shorten Lifespan
http://www.seafox.com/lifespan.html
The Paul Cameron study. The one he did after being kicked out of the APA for making up data on homosexuals.

Maybe because it is a lie fabricated by Christian hate groups

Highlighting some false information from this site:

“In 1914, M. Hirschfeld reported on German males convicted of involvement in sodomy. The age distribution ranged from under 15 to over 50, with the median of 24 years. Since "over 50" was the last category, we cannot determine just how many, if any, attain the age of 65. But only 9 % were over 50.”
Notice how the author cleverly does not provide the fact that life expectancy in 1914 was 45.2 years. nor is there a comparison of the percentage of men outside of prison over the age of 50.

“In the late 1930s and 1940s, Kinsey and his investigators spent more than 12 years seeking out and interviewing homosexuals. Because Kinsey and his colleagues were regarded as sexual liberators, homosexuals were eager to volunteer for his study. There is no reason to believe that his sample was not representative of all age groups available. Yet fewer than 1% of his homosexuals, male as well as female, were over the age of 65. “ notice how the author here lies by omission. Question: how many heterosexuals male and female over the age of 65 were interviewed?

“The Mattachine Society, the earliest of the "gay rights" organizations, gathered together a representative group of homosexuals for Evelyn Hooker to study in her highly influential 1950s study. The oldest of the 30 subjects was 50, the next oldest was 44, and the median age was 33.” And here the author lies by omitting the fact that the ages of the participants in Dr. Hooker’s study was limited to college educated men between the ages of 25 and 50.

“Life expectancy for a 20 year old gay or bisexual man is 8 to 20 years less than all men. The authors estimate that " nearly half of gay and bisexual men currently age 20 years will not reach their 65th birthday." Source: Hogg. RS., Strathdee, SA., Craib, KJP., O'Shaughnessy, MV., Montainer, JSG., Schechter, MT., " Modeling the impact of HIV Disease on Mortality in Gay and Bisexual Men," International Journal of Epidemiology, Vol. 26, No. 3, 1997, pp. 657-61.”

Ahh.. the Hogg study. The study the authors got so tired of the religious right lying about they complained in writing “it appears that our research is being used by select groups in United States and other countries to suggest that gay and bisexual men live an unhealthy lifestyle that is destructive to themselves and to others. These homophobic groups appear more interested in restricting the human rights of gay and bisexuals rather than promoting their health and well being.”

Davedjy has already confronted some of the false information about health presented here. thanks Dave

Considering NARTH is a known hate group you should really consider how using anything from them will reflect on you

Most other faiths believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, which is the only marriage that is spoke of by God and Jesus.
Along with polygamy
And levirate marriage
And using rape to force a girl into marriage
And concubines
And female slaves as sex toys

The Negative Health Effects of Homosexuality
Issue No.: 232
by: Timothy J. Dailey, Ph. D.
Wow…there is someone who actually believes Daily is presenting facts?

Unhealthy Aspects of "Monogamous" Homosexual Relationships. Even those homosexual relationships that are loosely termed "monogamous" do not necessarily result in healthier behavior.
· The journal AIDS reported that men involved in relationships engaged in anal intercourse and oral-anal intercourse with greater frequency than those without a steady partner.[15]
Basically Coxon teh refernced author is saying that individuals in a relationship have sex more often than those individuals who are not in a relationship. Well that is shocking news.

Anal intercourse has been linked to a host of bacterial and parasitical sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS.
So is vaginal intercourse, so what?

· The exclusivity of the relationship did not diminish the incidence of unhealthy sexual acts, which are commonplace among homosexuals. An English study published in the same issue of the journal AIDS concurred, finding that most "unsafe" sex acts among homosexuals occur in steady relationships.[16]
Well that is a strange statement. Its sort of like saying that married couples often engage in sexual practices that might lead to pregnancy

What we have here is a common tactic daily through out his paper, something he uses when he wishes to present false data as fact.
While savedandhappy did not present the bibliography of the Dailey paper it is easy enough to find. And this reference is
[17] Bill Roundy, "STDs Up Among Gay Men: CDC Says Rise is Due to HIV Misperceptions," The Washington Blade (December 8, 2000). Available at: www.washblade.com/health/a.
Notice how daily presents fabrication as fact by citing an unverifiable and unavailable source. Why doesn’t’ Daily use the original source rather than what amounts to an internet blog?

· HPV can lead to anal cancer. At the recent Fourth International AIDS Malignancy Conference at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Andrew Grulich announced that "most instances of anal cancer are caused by a cancer-causing strain of HPV through receptive anal intercourse. HPV infects over 90 percent of HIV-positive gay men and 65 percent of HIV-negative gay men, according to a number of recent studies."[18]
If only the American cancer society agreed with this statement. (they don’t BTW)
But what is really interesting is that in the body of the text Daily attributes this claim to Andrew Grulich. Yet in the references it is attributed to one Dr. Richard Zmuda

· The link between HPV and cervical cancer. Citing a presentation by Dr. Stephen Goldstone to the International Congress on Papillomavirus in Human Pathology in Paris, the Washington Blade reports that "HPV is believed to cause cervical cancer in women."[19]
well we now know such to be the case. However it is interesting to note that Dailey is not using HPV and subsequent cancers to spread or justify hatred for women

And on and on and on
