1 yo surgery

I'm not sure how to start this so here it goes. My 1yo Gideon has to have surgery tomorrow morning because of a birth defect. I'm not to worried the doctors we have here are really good at what they do. My older to boys Sam and Jonah 4 and 2 1/2 are going to their grandparents for a few days. The hard part of all of this is that it's going to be hard to see my little guy in so much pain. (it's supposed to be a 6 week long recovery) And I'm going to miss the other two like crazy. I asked grandma if they could take the older ones for a few days because this type of surgery requires extra care at home and I want to know what I'm doing before the other two come home. The reason I am putting this in the pregnancy forum is b/c I am pregnant and could be sad b/c my emotions are just crazy right now. If you all could pray for my family this week. That Gideon only has to have one surgery and that I hold it together for everybody!! Thanks so much!!

Praying that the surgery went without complication and that you have been able to hold it together, in spite of the pregnancy hormones that can make us cry at the drop of a hat!

UPDATE:Surgery went pretty well. Gideon does have to have another one next summer. At least it's not in 6 months like they were talking about. That's when I am due. Thanks for your prayers. I held it together pretty good. I didn't cry only got a little anxious when I saw he was done and in recovery and they hadn't come to get me yet. A fun side note while we were in the consult room waiting for him to go in he feel asleep in my arms The perfect last little normal cuddle for awhile!

I'm glad it went well! My oldest had to have emergency surgery when he was 5 and I remember how nerve-wracking it was. Praying for a quick recovery for Gideon!
