1 john 4:1-3 says,
Test the Spirits
1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Now, the bible teaches us that God came in the flesh in (1 timothy 3:16, john 1:1, 14). If we deny that Jesus is God, or that God came in the flesh, we are not of God. Yet, if we acknowledge that jesus is God, we are of God.
Since- Jesus=God(isaiah 9:6, jeremiah 23:5-6, revelation 1:8, john 8:58 and so on)
The verse could be read as " Every spirit that acknowledges that God has come in the flesh is from God"
and,
"And every spirit that confesseth not that God is come in the flesh is not of God:"
So every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus is God is of God. Yet, if a person denies that Jesus is God, he is not of God.
