  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am a new pastor, called to a church of about 75 members who want to do new things. I've decided to do our first Bible study on 1 Corinthians, which gives a lot of the basics on how to be a church.

I haven't been happy with many of the commentaries and resources I've looked at. What have you used, with success--either general Biblical commentaries or specific commentaries on 1 Corinthians, aimed at preachers? I can read enough Greek to take advantage of a textual commentary, and I think it's important to provide historical context, but I want to focus on the implications of the text for practical issues that face a church.

Thanks!

1:10 - its a slow process, but the best i think comes from actually sharing faith daily, i would so love to be in your place, to even offer my humbelness every day for anyone that wants to come... i would be willing to share my faith over and over, and help others by learning from them, and helping them to see God like i do.. its kinda a lot of work but something of a work could help, the writting of a notebook of faith.. its not hard and worth a years worth of talking for they find their own faith more and more.. and then you could put htem all together, more work for the leaders, then give them out again.. then talking of the areas that everyone has different, so that you can have the same faith! like is said...

1:21 - i think that you have to outline the truth that the youngest of us believes the most, for within they care for the first time... its about Jesus coming back to life and going away in conquor of the wrath of sin, and washin us in His Blood to protect us forever... so its kinda best for the children harder for the grown..

1:30 - being in Christ as seen by God!! that is a greatness to celebrate and try praising from everyone..

2:5 - The Power of God opened by some light you have would be great.. for the church.. like His 7 days of Creation.. even the walking heard from the garden, (for He is a Giant!) and then the power that is ever around Him, (take it from a witness of Him, He has visible power!!) this power is there for everyone and once seen it travels through all, some how.. and well its there to call upon and He will command... so knowing this you should shine it too.. and well i think that if they asked for their best prayer "by the Power around You" then they shall please God, Hopefuly depends on the greatness or childishness of their prayers.. all good is possible...

2:11 - dont nkow if thats me... but still asking of God's Spirit is a joy of prayer... Surely He responds!!

2:16 - that Christ is more than just in us, He is there for us, and through Him does all our prayers be heard, and its His Glory that He will return, but that way only good is there infront of God... pruity of the highest!

3:1-4 - a good idea to have this church a specialest time of all their lives, its good to talk much of the dream you have of Heaven, that way all learn more than they can be sure of.. and will if they talk amongst each other about Heaven, gain love for eachother... please try to help them to love each other..

3:7 - God should be thanked together in worship, like bringing up everything He has done, which is all good, and better too, and then worship together whoever wants to speak up... in a smaller church number its betterly possible.. i would think...

3:13 (Day is God) - also the foundation is something to teach over and over again, the whole story of Jesus, again and again.. its the most important part.. and well helping them up to shine in questions of light, thats a good try at bringing them to have something for Christ.. For God...

3:17 - warn them about staying holy once you have the knowledge it may be there for or against you.. so they should learn to be holy one way that works is coming to churhc often, i believe you should be there ready to shine and grace unto them your light... and love too...

3:23 - a promise too, that it is... so help them to remember that, every time you meet., like hows everyone of The Lords' doing today...? just a hint... or something

4:4 - this is a practice i know not how to return someone to not judge, the telling of the reason probably wont work for the ease is within very little effort for the continueing judgers, yet to slow them down (God told me once to slow down or i would end up in hell) so its serious, i think that kind judgement is better than harshness practices are perfectable arts... so praise it goes into would be hopefull that they are the same (fallowing above) for everyone.. not that its like the heathens prayers, but make a praise everytime.. from judgeless like keeping from pride and unhonor.. just stay possitive...

4:6-13 - greatness is in here, first the honor of the apostles to be highly fallowable, that to hold the burden so to say, of the others, you could even bless them all witnessing, like about allow me to hold their iniquity while they hold my faith.. until i do a good enough job at bringin them to see, that they are now one of Christ's and must love God... or a higher if you have wisdom you should use it to find no loss for anyone only the gain that is discribed.. also the servace of the Lord Jesus, the Commands He Gave are a big study and needing to be for everyone of the churhc.. i would say..

4:14-21 - plant the field right, and you shall be blessed into farther of the light, may your power be given by God, and may He right you where you would wrong, for all deserve your place, yet who would do the best? may you be there above.. that we are willing to fulfill the wishes of our love, and for all who are given to us, we should keep, please do what you can for the good that they will with you be...amen...

5:8 - ah about before the worst shouldnt be welcomed into something of simular making of the pearl, holy to holy, but i dont doubt that your members are all good, still teach them all there is of Christ, for He is the only path of life.. they have to fallow and willingly and knowingly try to serve Him in every way He asked all... so teach all you can of Him, over and again, for not all have the mind to learn upon the first light... perhaps you will find that you will be the teacher of them again when more is known of our LOVE, Jesus Christ! in Heaven amen...
ill leave you with that.. sorry maybe ill post more..
