  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    According to His Great Mercy

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in...

    We Will Serve The Lord

Today I am reading in the book of Joshua, chapter 24, taken from the Old Testament. Joshua was speaking here to the children of Israel, and he was giving them the words of the Lord. And much of this is a rendering of historical events, beginning with Abraham, all the way through to the...

    Entering Into God's Eternal Rest

“Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. For...

    Summary of Romans 11

You can read the whole chapter here at: Bible Gateway passage: Romans 11 - New American Standard Bible 1995 When it says here that God has not rejected his people, he is speaking of his people whom he foreknew. And what does that mean? It means that God foreknew who would believe in him, who...

By The Sanctifying Work of The Spirit

“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood...

    Time is Not Our Friend

This is a video of me reading the poem, "Time is Not Our Friend," and then me talking about what that means for us today, in connection with these being the last days before the return of Christ and the evidence we can see each day of the times in which we now live, and the importance of making...

Proclaiming the Gospel of The Kingdom

“Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.” (Matthew 4:23 NASB1995) As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to follow his example in being his...

    Holy in All Our Behavior

“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” “If you address as Father the One who impartially...

The Wise Woman Builds Her House

“The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish tears it down with her own hands. He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, But he who is devious in his ways despises Him. In the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his back, But the lips of the wise will protect them.” (Proverbs 14:1-3...

If We Abide in His Word

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’ They answered him, ‘We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, “You will become...

    Are We Being Sober-Minded?

“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Who's Refining?

Drummers drumming. Singers humming. Look to God, for soon He’s coming. Nailers twisting. Snakers glistening. Gospel told. Is no one listening? Trappers trapping. Biters snapping. Pay attention. See what’s happening. Miners dining. Who’s refining? Barely no one. God’s opining. An Original...

    For His Good Pleasure

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:12-13 ESV). What does this mean...

“Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your...

    Living as Servants of God

“Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish...

    A Still Small Voice

I was talking with the Lord about how quiet he was, and then the phrase, “a still small voice” came to mind. I remembered that God had spoken to Elijah in a “still small voice” or in a “gentle whisper.” That was when Elijah was discouraged because of his powerful enemy who was coming against...

    Romans 6 23 In Context

Romans 6:23, often quoted out of context, is best read in its full context, for in context it is letting us know that we are no longer to be enslaved to sin. We should no longer let sin reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its passions. For if sin is what we obey, in practice, it leads to...
