  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Listen to God and Eat What is Good

“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me...

    In Real Knowledge and Discernment

“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus...

    Avoiding Change

“So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and...

    Enslaved to God

“For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death. But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit...

    Adultery in Your Heart

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose...

    Our Fellowship with Christ Jesus

“What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. “This is the message we have heard from Him and announce...

    Immediately They Followed Him

“From that time Jesus began to preach and say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He said to them...

    A Call to Repentance

“What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs or goats. “When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courts? “Bring your...

    God is My Salvation

“Then you will say on that day, ‘I will give thanks to You, O Lord; For although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, And You comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.’...

    Fools Mock at Sin

Proverbs 14 Select Verses NASB1995 2 He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, But he who is devious in his ways despises Him. 5 A trustworthy witness will not lie, But a false witness utters lies. 7 Leave the presence of a fool, Or you will not discern words of knowledge. 8 The wisdom of...

    Are You Addicted to Sin?

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and...

    Where are You?

Loneliness and longing, Feeling not belonging, Fit not in the picture, Wond’ring ‘bout the future? Needing much endurance And much of assurance God is fully sovereign O’er to Him belonging? News brings much confusion, With it much illusion. Who then to be trusted? Not those who’re corrupted...

    Out of Our Bondage

Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. 3...

    Faith in Christ in Action

I am reading in Hebrews 11 in the NASB1995 translation: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval.” (vv. 1-2) “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is...

    Don't Be Obstinate and Disobedient

“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good...

Not an Opportunity for The Flesh

I am reading in the book of Galatians today. The primary thrust of this writing is to correct error in the church. For there were false brothers among the people who were trying to convince the Gentile Christians that they had to be more like Jews and that they had to obey some of the Old...

Are You Able to Drink the Cup?

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.
