  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    The Door of The Sheep

“So Jesus said to them again, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to...

    Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set...

    Divine Appointments

I am reading in Acts 8. I will summarize some and quote some. This was after the stoning of Stephen. Saul, who later became Paul, was in hearty agreement with putting him to death. And Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house. And dragging off people, he would put them in...

Discerning the Signs of The Times

The Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. But He replied to them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do...

    We Cannot Serve Two Masters

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” (Matthew 6:24 ESV) The word translated here as “money,” in English, is “mammōnás.” It can mean “riches, money, possessions...

If it Dies, it Bears Much Fruit

“And Jesus answered them, ‘The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world...

    The Battle for Truth

Truth is marching, truth is marching. I love you. Honor me. Tell the truth. You’ll be free. Sing My praise all your days. I will give all you need. Truth is marching, truth is marching. Turn from sin; cleansed within. Stand in awe of My Name. Teach what’s true. Walk in peace. Follow Christ...

    I Say, "Goodnight"

I say, “Goodnight,” I say, “Goodbye,” I say, “Hello,” now don’t you cry, For life is short in many ways, We do not know how many days. For time is ticking, ticking by, We do not know when we will die, It could be soon, it could be late, For we know not the final date. For we are born and then...

    We are to Bear Witness

“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.” (John 15:26-27 ESV) Do you ever hear God speak to you in your...

"I Will Teach You the Fear of the Lord"

“Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. “The...

    Be Imitators of God

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no...

    Jesus' Sheep Listen and Obey

On the internet there is a site called “Bible Gateway” where you can read the Scriptures in multiple translations and where you can look at the Greek and Hebrew interlinear to get definitions of Bible words, and where they usually have a verse of the day, which is not always just one verse. And...

Know that the Lord is God

We Are His Sheep “Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” (Psalms 100:3 ESV) We need to know that the Lord is God, not just intellectually, but deep down in the depths of our hearts and souls. So we must...

Whoever Loves His Life Loses It

John 12:20-26 ESV “Now among those who went up to worship at the feast were some Greeks. So these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, ‘Sir, we wish to see Jesus.’ Philip went and told Andrew; Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. And Jesus answered them, ‘The hour...

Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood...
