  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

“You are aware of the fact that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. The Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains; but when he was in Rome, he eagerly searched for me and found me— the...

Even Though I Walk Through a Dark Valley

One of the saddest days of my childhood is when our family moved from a wonderful neighborhood in Ellet (a subdivision of the City of Akron in Ohio, USA) to South Arlington Street in Akron. In Ellet we had good neighbors and many friends to play with and to do things with. We played all sorts of...

    Persevering

2 Corinthians 6:3-10 ESV We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; by...

    The Mistress

Psalm 40:1-3 NASB I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and...

My Help Psalm 121:1-2 NIV I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. In this life we will have trouble, heartache, and distress. Friends and family members will die, or they will leave us or desert us in...

    Dropped Off

Mohembo leaned over and kissed his wife goodbye before he got out of the car, took his suitcase out of the trunk and walked into the international departures terminal at the airport. Parking was a headache and an expensive one at that. She would drive straight back home, stopping only at the...

    Betrayed To Death

Condemned to Death Matthew 20:17-19 NIV Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will...

    Not Ever Forsaken

Love One Another Hebrews 13:1-3 NIV Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in...

    Arise and Shine

Sunday, April 2, 2017, 5:55 a.m. – The Lord Jesus put in mind the song “Be Strong and Take Courage.” Speak, Lord, your words to my heart. I read Isaiah 60 (Select vv. NASB). Your Light has Come (vv. 1-3) “Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. “For...
