Depends on what you consider athiest. Some people think athiesm means lack of anything spiritual (or a synonym for secular), some people think it means lack of belief in a kind of personal deity. Depending on your definition, Buddhism & some views of Hinduism can be considered athiestic...

And I'm sure Hindus have no problem with that. The only problem they would have is when they are entered into textbooks viewed by hundreds, thousands of students, but innacurately.

But they have already entered textbooks, as lies, misconceptions and selective "facts", as was discussed earlier. I guess the only real problem some people would have is, the actual Hinduism being taught.
