Have Made a New Committment to Spend More Time in Scripture! Could Use Some Help...

I've had various suggestions. Here are some of the best: - Write the Bible out in your own words as you read it. So, as you read the sermon on the mount, think about what Jesus was trying to say, and write it down. This really makes you pay attention to what you're reading. - Read a book...

    He or he?

But then, if you look in the Bible, they don't capitalise it... Weird. I sometimes do, and sometimes don't, depending on how I'm feeling at the time.

    Desperate! Prayer for salvation!

I pity you so much in this situation. I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me. All I can say is this: Pray. Hard. Keep seeking God's will in everything that happens here. Keep praying.

Urgent, if u don't like adultery check this out

It is rather! Prostitution has been legal in Melbourne for as long as I can remember. They have a huge amount of registered 'sex workers' here - the only thing that's illegal is street prostitution, and they're changing that too. The government wants to make street prostitution legal in 'red...

    Refugees

Forgot to say - the issue Carrot's talking about at the moment, is asylum seekers who have landed in Australia, and are being shut up in detention centres until their applications have been gone through. Some people are saying the conditions there are really bad, and it should be done...

    Refugees

"I have confidence to say that in the UK we would not allow people to drift in the ocean on ships" Just so you know, the time when that occurred, the asylum seekers had actually been picked up by a ship from Holland, which then entered Australian waters to drop them off here, because the Dutch...

Urgent, if u don't like adultery check this out

Berol06 - no, this is in Australia. Prostitution is actually legal in Australia, would you believe! Quite ridiculous, but true.

    Fasting and Prayer

The most I've ever fasted food-wise was for 40 hours. V-tough. At the moment, I'm doing a 40-day TV fast - no TV! I'm missing it like mad, but it's probably very good for me!

    Christian Dating Question

In my experience, going too far cheapens everything before it. For example: if you start kissing someone as soon as you're going out, you are not going to think it's a big deal. But if you kiss about... say... once a week or so, it is A BIG DEAL every time you kiss! You get the thrill of...

    Lent and Traditions

Well, I'm not a Catholic, so I don't really hear too much about Lent, but I'm giving up TV for that time-period.

The disciple who leaned on Jesus Breast...

Yeah, but John isn't actually mentioned by name in the book of John at all - the others all are. It's pretty obvious who is meant.

The 5th Passion Account: The Gospel of Peter

It comes across to me as totally unreal. When you read the gospels, you can get a sense of the reality of the situation. But this one is just full of dramatic moments and people making speeches, and stuff, and it just comes across as being really fake.

    once saved always saved

So let's see... A few of you seem to be saying that if you're a Christian and then you sin, that makes you not a Christian anymore. What?! Doesn't that sort of negate the idea of grace? Here's what I think: You become a Christian through putting your trust in Jesus. That's it. From then on...

    What's God teaching you?

God is currently teaching me to sacrifice my life, and every part of it, to Him. I need to keep putting Him first, rather than anything else, regardless of how good it is. He's also been teaching me to be humble, and a lot about courage in sharing my faith.
