I think it is like a 'religion' for some people. Although when I listen to my local radio football phone in (BBC Radio Stoke, so mainly Stoke fans and a few Port Vale and Crewe) people tend to slag their teams, managers and chairmen off for anything and everything rather than worshipping them :D...
