Should the Christian Bible consist only of the four gospels?

I don't think you are referring to me...I still can't navigate this site well at all. But I do cut and paste. I cut and pasted an article today, from a website...but it was my article. I am the author of it, though it is in a different name, and 3 or 4 years ago. I authored several articles on...

Should the Christian Bible consist only of the four gospels?

Not because Paul said, "I say so", but because God, in the Holy Spirit caused it to be placed in the bible.

Should the Christian Bible consist only of the four gospels?

Eutychus... I feel it was something more than men with pen in hand. In fact, I place the authorship of the New Testament squarely in the hands of the Holy Spirit. For there are New Testament prophecies in the New Testament as well. Here are a couple... "But the Comforter, which is the Holy...

    Discipleship versus Saintship...

Discipleship? or Saintship? The term ‘disciple’ appears one time only in the Old Testament, so it’s clear the idea and practice of discipleship is almost solely a New Testament innovation. In fact, the term disciple(s) occurs in the New Testament well over 200 times. WEBSTER’S (Ninth New...

How can I get in the habit of reading the Bible everyday?

Here is something Jesus said, related to the present discussion... "Take heed what ye hear: with what measure you met, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear SHALL MORE BE GIVEN. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which...

How can I get in the habit of reading the Bible everyday?

Here is what Jesus said, when confronted with a CNN-style 'got'cha' question...the question was about the resurrection, and who would a woman having had 7 husbands on earth, end up married to in heaven? And Jesus said something incredibly important. He said, "Ye do err, not knowing the...

    Hi...pleased to make your acquaintance.

I've already enjoyed this afternoon immensely. I suspect, gone are the nights of long hours with pleasant deep sleep and dreams of yesteryear...looks like I'm going to be learning, fellowshipping, and sitting here being blessed.

    Hi...pleased to make your acquaintance.

Thank you! And let me reply to your verse, with my verse... "Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid." 1 Tim 5:24-25. I see you! and am...

    Hi...pleased to make your acquaintance.

Thank you so much! Whenever anyone meets a friend on the streets in these parts, they'll end up talking about restaurants within three minutes. I remember a time, when that conservation would have been about Jesus, the Church, the Bible...old times are not forgotten for me, and I think I might...

    Hi...pleased to make your acquaintance.

I am an old Christian, with an old love, for God, for Jesus, for The Word of God...I am a life-long student of that Word. I am a writer, poet, fly fisherman (NOT your typical 'snobbish' fly fisherman), photographer, historian; and my wife and I spend most weekends seeking out historic...

God’s Overall Plan for the Church..... Part 1

MEMO: I look about me, and see huge church parking lots, with half a dozen cars parked on Sunday morning. I talk to church folks, and ask, "How many young people do you have in church" And no one ever says more than a precious few... I see the church, instead of shaping the world into a copy of...

How can I get in the habit of reading the Bible everyday?

MEMO: You might have noticed, that without the book of John, salvation would present a totally different concept. Here's what I mean. Read the synoptic gospels, that is Matthew, Mark and Luke. Find for me, the 'road to salvation' as it were. How are we told, in those three gospels, to be saved...

Should the Christian Bible consist only of the four gospels?

MEMO; "he was NOT talking about the NT, there was no NT at that point". Correct, Paul was not talking ABOUT the New Testament...he was too busy WRITING the New Testament, or at least a large portion of it. When Jesus, Peter, James and John stood on the mount of Transfiguration, and God spoke to...

Should the Christian Bible consist only of the four gospels?

Jude said, that we are to, "earnestly contend for the faith which was ONCE delivered unto the saints." Jude 3. We know that faith as two speakings of God, leading to one gospel. Check this out from Hebrews 1:1... "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers...

Question about my marriage. Need REAL marriage advice. (Moved from Christian Advice)

If your wife is Christian, perhaps you could, together, study and pray over the following admonition from Paul about this exact same issue...I Corinthians 7:2-5. 2"Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 3Let the husband...

How can I get in the habit of reading the Bible everyday?

Starting in mid'June, 1975, I have read, without fail, the entire New Testament every 13 days (taking the 14th day off). That means I read the complete New Testament, 26 times a year. As of January past, I have read it entirely 1092 times. It is a discipline, and returns more truth on...
