is it sinful to be a scofflaw?

Just remember, God favored Issac over Ishmael and we all know Issac means one who laughs.

is it sinful to be a scofflaw?

It just seems like everything that is fun and quirky these days is some sort of rebellion. I have always been taught God loves to laugh.

is it sinful to be a scofflaw?

I know Jesus called us to obey the laws of man and calls us to have reverence for the authorities. So dies that mean we should obey the laws of society simply because they are the law? I know there had been a lot of discussion about the ethics of obeying unjust laws or laws which go counter to...

is there anything inheriantly wrong with enjoying the secular aspects of Easter and Christmas.

I am aware that this is not a normal view held by Vinyard churches. In my experience with then they tend to be very mainstream Nicean churches. I have never been to one which prohibited easter or Christmas.

is there anything inheriantly wrong with enjoying the secular aspects of Easter and Christmas.

What you say is exactly what I have heard about dispensationalism. That is why I think it is odd that the church I am speaking about claims to be a dispensationalist church yet uses and stretches a proclamation from the OT to condemn Easter and Christmas celebrations as evil.

is there anything inheriantly wrong with enjoying the secular aspects of Easter and Christmas.

Also about dispensationalism, that's one of the reasons I think the stance of this church is odd. I was under the impression that under dispensationalism one would not try to take a specific command to a specific individual(s), in this case the command bring cut down the Ashera poles and the...

is there anything inheriantly wrong with enjoying the secular aspects of Easter and Christmas.

Well my husband and I, for the first time in almost 8 months attended a church service together last Sunday. We were brought to this church by chance because we happened to befriend a woman we met during the Gay pride parade (the long and short of it was she was there to protest, we were there...

    the lottery curse

I think the curse is more about envy than anything else. Both internal and external. Of course there will be those who envy the winner and proceed to act on such envy then there is the envy of the winner him or her self. That one I think is much more damaging. With new found wealth and the...

I thought Socialists thought the opposite. That money causes problems. Unless you mean other people's money cures problems.

    the lottery curse

Who here is familiar with the lottery curse? You know the way often times jackpot winners end up losing everything in a very short time with only the solace of knowing who his or her true friends really are? I know a lot of my posts are very strange and fanciful and in many respects...

step niece ran away for a third time

He just got off the phone with my brother and told him to keep it. He just cautioned him that, that particular gun CANNOT take contemporary loads and that he has been duly warned that firing that gun may result in the loss of a finger or worse. So I am super relieved that he is handling this...

step niece ran away for a third time

Right now she is being charged with operating without a licence and reckless damage of property for the meter pole. The owners of the meter pole (not us)opted to press charges. The prosecutor doesn't need to go anywhere for discovery since they already have a confession. Also interestingly (I...

step niece ran away for a third time

I wouldn't worry. Where we live burglaries are pretty much unprosecutable if the victim refuses to cooperate. And you really can't prosecute a victim for being less than forthcoming during an investigation. Besides, the price we paid for the deception is that the insurance will not cover our...

step niece ran away for a third time

We have a criminal trespass on her now. I honestly think my husband was too nice for how he lied too the police. He claimed that he authorized the use of the vehicle and gifted her the firearm last Christmas (both untrue). He then declined to press burglary charges. This could have been a lot...

step niece ran away for a third time

On Tuesday my step niece ran away from home again a third time. However, this time she didn't seek out my husband for help, she rode her bicycle to our home while my husband and I were at his job, she broke into one of our utility buildings, stole a couple Kung fu weapons, a firearm and my...

best response to "Where's your Messiah now? "I have ever heard

I don't think any one was anyone's enemy. My husband lies to be an ass, but he had every intention of helping her from the get go. It is just part of his personality to rib some one first. He carries around unlocking tools for the sole reason of helping people who get locked out of their cars...

best response to "Where's your Messiah now? "I have ever heard

Last Saturday my husband and I went to the pride parade. No we do not support that life style and no we weren't there for the glory of Christ, my husband is just super immature and he likes too gawk and snicker (much like a 13 year old would). At the end of the night around 1 AM we returned to...
