Christian, have you repented for voting for Trump, yet?

Nothing to repent for, Trump is better than Hilary would have been.

Why did God create this Earth?

How do you know? The Bible was developed over centuries, taking ages to dicide which books were valid and which weren't, we only have four Gospels because a bishop liked the number 4, etc. Saying "because the Bible says so" is circular reasoning. Any text can make a "this is true" claim.

    John 10:30 isn't a 'trinitarian' text.

Actually, that doesn't help the Trinitarian view. In that, Jesus makes the point that in the Old Testament, God said "I have said ye are gods". So Jesus was pointing out that if God said that in the Old Testament, why were the people calling him a blasphemer for saying he was the Son of God if...

The rapture mucked my life up

"The controlling members of the church" are greedy power-hungry human beings.

The bible is actually pro pedophilia?

It says to specifically "keep alive the virgins for themselves" what else on Earth would that mean?

The rapture mucked my life up

I wouldn't say "a lie of the devil" more "a lie of the controlling members of the church".

    Hurricane Irma

I'm PA so we seem to be out of the path luckily, but I have friends in Florida and Puerto Rico, and I'm really hoping everyone in the path stays safe!

    Christian only forums? Really?

You do realize that most atheists were devout believers and reading the Bible in-depth was often a large part of what caused them to lose their faith, right?

The tribulation will be world wide

There's not even supposed to BE any Antichrist. There were just "many antichrists" in Paul's day.

The rapture mucked my life up

I wish I could give you a hug, dude. I have to admit, I've felt similarly and feel similarly. I had a good Catholic upbringing and still do, at least in terms of the fact that no one scared the rapture or whatever into my mind. Even when it came to hell I never even thought about it that much...

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

Well in our "fallen state" it's said that we shouldn't be able to see God's face at all. I've just heard people use the phrase "overwhelmed by glory" when they talk about seeing God's face and that seems just a little sketchy to me in that wording. Seeing God's face itself would be great though...

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

Then hell should not exist. And love should involve keeping our minds, right? Otherwise it's forced brainwashed love which kind of negates the whole "God wants us to have free will" view.

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

Yeah. I mean, sure, it means seeing the face of God, but I was thinking about how I've heard some say that if we see God's face then we'll be overwhelmed by his glory. And I wonder why God allowed people to see his face (and Moses saw his backside apparently) back in the Biblical days, and now...

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

But we don't KNOW what God has prepared. That's the problem. There's no indication that's not vague, or indication that we'll lose our memories in some form. Or at least we'll be overwhelmed by God's glory, completely changed, and have our minds wiped so we'll think of nothing else and if loved...

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

And what would that entail? What would that mean? There's a difference between being like Christ (being kind to everyone, loving our enemies, etc., which I think all of us should strive for) and what some see heaven as being (your memories and everything you are are wiped to just want to fall...

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

That's cruel then. Basically saying that our memories are wiped so we only focus on worshipping God, forget all the things we love, and forget about our loved ones that might be suffering in hell. That thought, along with the concept of hell itself, makes God seem like a brainwashing egomaniac...

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

Revelation was an allegorical/metaphorical message to the leaders of the churches persecuted under Emperor Nero. John couldn't outright say "Nero is a terrible person" or he's likely be beheaded, so it was all conveyed through imagery to show that eventually the persecuted Christians would be...

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

I mean what would that worship really entail? Since worship can be applied to things other than church and singing praises for eternity it would help to have some specifics.

Would you be happy in heaven if ...

It's just perhaps I wouldn't mind if people were actually explicit about what it is instead of vague non-answers with no clarification.

    Did God Create Evil?

Obviously. God apparently created everything. In the Old Testament he was in charge of peace and calamity, and sent evil and lying spirits. So God's really more morally ambiguous if anything.
