    Linux, Mac, or Windows?

    If you have net access you can download Linux for free perfectly legally. Of current big operating systems, i like Unix variants the best. If my hardware hadn't died on me or I had the money to replace is I'd still be using AmigaOS though.

    My WebPage

    I'm not sure whether they do international business, but the UK host easily.co.uk is hard to beat. They are very helpful, and I've had no problems with any of the domains I've been hosting with them over the last year. They are competitvely priced too...

    question about england and united kingdom

    The UK is a country, made up of a union of the countries England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. They still have very strong independant feeling, and a large ability to make their own laws to a greater or lesser extent, but they are atm all part of the UK. People who favour this setup...

    question about england and united kingdom

    Great Britain is the big island in the group, which is made up of England, Wales and Scotland. Ireland is the second biggest island in the group, made up of The Republic of Ireland (a country in its own right), and Northern Ireland (which together with Great Britain and a lot of smaller islands...

    housekeeping question

    Static shocks are caused by a buildup of charge (electrons staying in the same place, hence why it's called static) getting suddenly released. From what I understand, dampness helps this buildup to flow safely to earth before it builds up to be strong enough to do damage. Oh, thanks for the...

    housekeeping question

    Yes, it's a good idea to get in there once in a while and tidy things up. I have been known to vacuum it before, on a low power. Certainly blowing dust out is worthwhile. If things get very dusty in there, heat can build up, and that is not good for the sensitive electronics. Plus the...

    Powerpoint --> DVD?

    It's a little more complex than that. VideoCDs, like DVDs, have a standard structure the files should be in on the disc. If you can find a way to convert your powerpoint show to mpeg1 (i think the save as quicktime then converting method above is your best chance), then you would use software...

    Programming

    I have programmed in about several variants of BASIC (including VB, COMAL, BBC Basic, and when my Amiga still worked, BlitzBasic and Amos), Java, Pascal (and Delphi), Assembly, scripting in Perl, PHP and Javascript. And I've done HTML and a couple of flavours of SQL if you'd count them.

    Powerpoint --> DVD?

    What would be wrong with converting it to MPEG1 and burning a Video-CD? Most DVD players can play them too. It's poorer quality, but for something like this I doubt it would maky that much difference. Plus it would only need a CD-R drive and media.

    New IE Windows not working?

    Where did you download the Microsoft virtual machine from? Also, have you ever had any viruses on your computer - I ask this because there is a fairly common hoax atm that makes you think you are removing a virus file, but are in fact damaging the Java part of IE. If the VM was from a legit...

    why can't you believe the evidence?

    I can't stand it and merely do it to pass the time, I think you for your maturity in asking. I do not misunderstand any of evolutionary theory, having studied it without the problem of being blinkered in to believing it to be the only way. There was a time when I agreed with it, then I stared...

    why can't you believe the evidence?

    So do you enjoy trolling or do you just do it to pass the time? What I fail to understand is how evolutionists just forget basic requirements for their theory to work. How you can't just get something from nothing, how life - not just the chemical constituents of living things, but actually...

    Why do YECs believe the universe is only about 6000 years old?

    The elephants story is interesting, though I don't regard variations within a species as 'evolution'. They are still elephants genetically. Even if I were to accept that, this is simplification of an animal, not an advancement but a recession. How can more complex things develop through things...

    Why do YECs believe the universe is only about 6000 years old?

    Where can this cycle be observed? Please give us some examples. In reference to the question about dinosaurs, there are animals in the Bible such as the behemoth which have all the characteristics of dinosaurs. In addition to that, carbon dating of dinosaur bones has on several occasions...

    hundreds - not millions - of years

    Thankyou for responding to my helium argument- however my point it that even if there are means of release, we still cannot guage accurately the age of the earth. (Magnetism seems still unswered though?) And in response to the last post, how much of DNA do we understand? Just because we are...

    hundreds - not millions - of years

    If the planet only took a couple of hundred years to form then evolution couldn't take place as it requires millions of years. the problem here is that these stories are only talking about gas giants like jupiter and not small rocky plants like earth. however, the way I see is it that if the age...
