  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Faith without works explained

We are living in the last days, and people will do anything to justify that they can do evil and yet be in Christ’s Kingdom. Paul warned us of those who would have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. Meaning, they do not believe God can help them to overcome sins like the ones...

    Can Salvation be lost?

That is a dodge. You are trying to dismiss a valid objection by blaming it on a group we both disagree with. But the issue stands on its own both biblically and morally despite the errors of Universalists. I am not a Universalist, yet I also reject the doctrine of Unconditional Election because...

    Can Salvation be lost?

It’s not grace that makes God seem like a tyrant. It’s the distortion of grace into something irresistible and coercive that does. The Bible says, “The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men” (Titus 2:11). That grace teaches and invites, but never forces. God offering...

    Can Salvation be lost?

Hi Carl, Thank you for your response. I appreciate the opportunity to continue this discussion respectfully and seriously, because the stakes are high and the character of God is at the center of it. That is an inaccurate comparison. I am not denying final judgment, nor am I saying that...

    Can Salvation be lost?

I already explained it to you but it appears to be above your pay grade in understanding at this current point in time. Let me try again. If a person cannot see without the illumination of the Lord and God also electing them based on His future foreknowledge of what we are going to do before...

Which must be read in context to verses like 2 Thessalonians 2:10, Jonah 3:6-10, 1 Peter 1:1-2. Read also in context to: Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water...

    Can Salvation be lost?

Also, the Parable of the Sower is about our receiving the words of God in our life. Luke 8:11 says the seed is the Word of God. The sower according to the Parable of the Weeds is Jesus (Son of Man) (See: Matthew 13:37). Any words from Jesus we do not receive, those words will judge us on the...

    Can Salvation be lost?

I knew you would not read 2 Thessalonians 2:10 (KJV) correctly. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 (KJV) "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." It says that THEY received not the love of the truth that...

    Can Salvation be lost?

How do deal with verses like 2 Thessalonians 2:10 and God turning from judgment or wrath upon the Ninevites when they repented or turned from their wicked ways? Jonah said that they would be destroyed in 40 days. It did not happen. They made a choice that changed the scenario. What of the...

    Can Salvation be lost?

If God forces some to be saved and He forces others to not be saved against their will, then your God is no different than a man who kicks his dog across the room like a football for pooping on his nice white carpets, even though the dog has an uncontrollable pooping problem because it is sick...

    Can Salvation be lost?

In Mark 4:10-12, Jesus is quoting Isaiah 6:9–10, a passage about Israel’s stubbornness. Isaiah’s message was meant to warn and wake up the people, but because of their continual rebellion, God let them fall into blindness. This is called "judicial hardening," not arbitrary election. Jesus is...

    Can Salvation be lost?

Yes, I am suggesting that "those outside" had an opportunity to believe—but they hardened themselves, and God responded by giving them over to spiritual blindness, just as He had warned would happen (see Romans 1:21–24; Hebrews 3:7–13). The parables were not meant to create unbelief, but to...

Again, not related to 1 Peter 4:1-2. Read the passage. If you believe it over the lies you have been fed from your church, it will change your world. But I know you and many others simply do not like this passage and it must be changed because it does not fit your belief.

    Can Salvation be lost?

But that is what Peter is plainly saying. So no. You don't believe the passage because you reject the plain and obvious meaning. If it said you would win a million dollars today, you would believe it because it serves your interests. Seeing that this passage is against what you believe, you...

    Can Salvation be lost?

Looking at the whole counsel of God's Word, we know that this is in light of the false heresy of “Circumcision Salvationism”. If you were to read Acts 15, Paul and the others talked about how Christians do not have to be circumcised to be saved and to keep the Laws of Moses. So, it is talking...

Then you don't believe verses like: 1 Peter 4:1-2 (KJV) that says: "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the...

    Can Salvation be lost?

2 Corinthians 7:1 says let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Christians tend to avoid verses like this in the Bible and they prefer to quote 1 John 1:8 from a sin focused perspective. Christians can sin, and they can...

    Can Salvation be lost?

Yes, this is what they should do, but it simply is not my experience when talking with many of them. Kerigan Skelly and his ministry is one of the few out there who preaches repentance. You just don't hear that nowadays. If they are for living a holy life, then chances are they may be for...
