  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ethics on lies and how to tell other Christians that they are supporting liars.

A lie can be betrayal of trust. And to betray trust is a work of hate. So, it can be a big problem, indeed. Well, in the United States, to me it seems possible that this country is in a state of political civil war. And lying is indeed a tactic of war. Most of all, make sure you are being a...

Do you think a guilty until proven innocent justice system could ever be a good thing?

But in this evil world, ones do hurt the innocent, in order to get rid of certain evil people. For example > the United States . . . reportedly . . . killed 100,000 noncombatants, in order to get rid of Saddam. And we see quite a slaughter of noncombatant Palestinians, in order to get rid of...

Critical Theory and the Politics of Divine Love, Part 1

"Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common," (Acts 2:44) "Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common." (Acts 4:32) So, yes there is a...

Critical Theory and the Politics of Divine Love, Part 1

"nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3) In the United States, it seems that in order to get into the presidency, ones might try to lord themselves over others. And so, right from the start, they are not operating in divine love in their...

Pastors urged to carry on Charlie Kirk's 'torch' and preach against abortion

It seems to be saying that the Human Coalition says abortion is the worst moral crisis at this time . . . even the "defining" crisis; and silence brings "deadly consequences." And pastors, then, are urged to make a point of speaking out against abortion. But I am thinking about how people who...

Christians Have No Right To Be Adultists

It seems to be how children are treated like they are inferior to adults and need to be controlled. But what could be worse is the attitude that any adult is automatically superior to any youth. But a young person might not be mature enough to handle some number of things. So, I see why our...

Well, Donald did claim the election was stolen. And his own vice president said that was not true, plus the Supreme Court with a conservative majority . . . partly chosen by Donald . . . said there was not sufficient evidence of a stolen election. And federal judges threw it out . . . at the end...

    Comparative Forms of Reasoning

Without looking at the tape > I would say when I reason I am deductive, meaning I use what I have for consideration, to draw a conclusion. Usually, I mean deductive by looking at the scripture I have and drawing some conclusion. However, I understand that our **character** has a lot to do with...

What does the Bible teach about the role of men?

For example > 1 Peter 1-4. This means how God has this working, using our example. As you say > Instead of only hating and dissing the person, honor the person by being respectful and kind to the person. Jesus says to treat others the way you want to be treated, right? Be an example of how to...

What does the Bible teach about the role of men?

So, then, do not give him respect which is fake. But honor him in order to encourage him to do what is good. Be a good example. "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21) Whatever God knows is "good" is what this means. This means what is possible with God.

    Using AI for scripture study

"Test all things; hold fast what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21) Well, "Artificial Intelligence" (AI) can not tell me what I want to hear, if I have not given it feedback, I would think. For example, when I ask for a sermon about "humildad" in Spanish so I can see what vocabulary is used to...

How do you celebrate Halloween in your family?

There are people who provide an occasion in their churches, where their youths can stay and have clean fun and fellowship. Also, I know a pastor who would go out, right in the middle of the activities, with his children, in order to reach people for Jesus and contact ones he already was...
