    Cancer tests

Hello, My amazing 25-year-old brother is being tested for bone cancer today. I'd be so grateful if you could join me in lifting him and my family up in prayer. Blessings

    I did it!!

I've finished the first draft of my novel!! I can't believe I've actually turned the outline I wrote so long ago into a story. It still needs a lot of work but I'm so proud of it :D Just wanted to share my joy!

Following on from the 'Question for virgins who won't date non-virgins' thread...

I know several members on this board have stated that they choose not to date non-virgins. I'm not here to attack them for that view, but I just wondered... Does the designation 'non-virgin' include those who've been widowed? Say you've chosen only to date virgins and then you meet somebody...

    Do Christians value life less?

A thread in the women's discussion forum got me thinking about some Christians' attitude to death as sacrifice, and death in general. The OP asked two questions: whether or not, if you had a gun put to your head and were asked if you believed in God, you'd say yes or no. Then she asked what...

    Hostel

I just wanted to hear from people who'd seen this, as I'm going to watch the DVD as soon as I've got time. Is it as sick, bloody, horrifying etc... as the cover blurb says? I've got no problem at all with gruesome films as long as there's a point to it all :P Is the story itself any good...

    Anybody else finishing soon?

I'm getting to the end of my final project for my Masters degree, due on September 1. I'll graduate in November. I'm not sure yet whether I'll ever attempt a PhD (right now I'm leaning more towards trying to write for publication, and working indefinitely to pay the bills) so this could be the...

How often do you pray the Rosary?

I'm sifting through masses of information on the Rosary and just wondered how often Catholics pray it :)

Know any good online Bible reading/study plans?

I could really use a system or plan for reading my Bible and wondered if anyone here knew any good ones to be found online? I've been looking at some already but recommendations would be much appreciated :) Cheers, all!

Any fans of Monty Python films?

I somehow managed to miss Monty Python, growing up. My friend stayed over a couple of weeks ago and brought 'The Holy Grail' - I have never laughed so much in my life! It's exactly my sense of humour - really bizarre. I'm trying to collect that and all the others, now, as soon as money allows...

What do you wish you'd known, about going away to college?

Hallo, all :) A question... I'm just found out the other day that I have to enrol at my new university on September 19. I'll be living in, so it's only just hit me, really, that I'm leaving home in less than four weeks. I've started a few of the practical arrangements but there's a lot I...

Has anybody read 'The Lovely Bones'...

...by Alice Sebold? It's a pretty big bestseller in the UK. I'm not sure about everywhere else. I read the first 20 pages on my break today and it will probably keep me up all night. That doesn't often happen to me, and I read constantly. Any thoughts on it?

    A Valentine's hug...

I realise it's a day early, but I wanted to give everybody a Valentine's hug. So... *HUG* God bless :D

Please tell me this a joke. SpongeBob!

I laughed so much at this article... http://www.christianitytoday.com/ctmag/special/spongebob.html How can anybody accuse SpongeBob of having an agenda of any kind? He's a sponge!

    White Noise

Is anybody else really, really looking forward to this? I saw the trailer last night and it knocked me for six. Someone's finally made a film about this fascinating phenomenon (I know it was touched on in 'The Sixth Sense' but I hope this is different). I'm counting the days till the 7 January.

    Domestic violence

What are your views concerning the possibility of a divorce, between Christians, because of domestic violence? Should a physically abused wife/husband stay married to a violent spouse, if adultery hasn't taken place, because of Matthew 5:32? "But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife...

Busy college students, come hither and rant!

I think we need a thread where CF college students can rant about their workloads, and trying to fit studying and assignments in with the rest of life :P I'll go first... In the next five weeks I've got to closely read six different texts as well as a bunch of critical material besides. I've...

    Conversion, fiction and fear

I'm fascinated by investigations into urban legends, how and why they come into being and how they develop. Yesterday and today I've been reading online about a lot of 'Christian' urban legends that are apparently circulated in an effort to bring people to Jesus, often by making them afraid of...

    Anyone here love Barbie?

I'd love to start seriously collecting Barbie dolls. I already have Blushing Bride (beautiful!) and Winter Glamour (gorgeous red evening dress). I've seen some other lovely and unusual collector's Barbies around, some of which I hope to own one day soon. It'd be interesting to know if anybody...

    Finding a church?

I have a considerable problem and just want to ask my fellow Brits for some advice... I've been saved for six months and still haven't been to church. There must be about ten churches near where I live, loads of denominations, but I'm too shy to set foot in even one :P I've been to a few of...
