Is it ok to et meat or not?

It's fine. Though I respect vegetarians for their values and morals.

Why does God not answer some prayers?

Over 30 years. Many churches, my last church was a WoF church actually. I accept WoF doctrine otherwise I wouldn't be here. I dislike most other organized churches, but a lot of WoF doctrine seems correct to me, through experience I've found it true. But not with this however...

Why does God not answer some prayers?

The context of that verse is that food and clothing shall be added to you, not a mate. That passage (Matt 6) is clearly referring to what the world seeks after, which is what to wear and what shall we eat. Jesus said, "Don't worry, if God clothes the grass and feeds the birds, will he not do the...

    Another Let Down :(

If your desire is greater than your desire for Jesus, then yes it is wrong. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is what the bible says. If you're not content single, you'll never be content married. Look at me, I used to want to get married, but I'm getting older and life has passed...

Would you give up being happy for Jesus?

Yes, I know. I was just using that as an example of the tough things Jesus demands of us in order to be his follower. I don't see a lot of christian singles obeying God in this respect. It's admittably tough, but no one said the christian life was fun, good or enjoyable. But it is worth it.

The term for blessed also translates to happy.

Would you give up being happy for Jesus?

So you can go to heaven, I would think is the standard answer? If you think about it, a lifetime of misery is nothing compared to not going to hell for all eternity. Not a bad deal, when you think of it.

Oho, I see what you did there.

    Another Let Down :(

Focus less on what you want and more on abiding in the will of God. God wants to use you to spread his message to the world. Now's not the time to focus upon earthly things of little value. This is a lesson I am being forced to learn and accept too. Look at the way Job put it, "Though he slay...

Would you give up being happy for Jesus?

I would say the same. Jesus does demand that we hate even our families and lives to be his disciple. It's a harsh road to walk, being a christian.

What do you look for in a potential mate?

The question should not be a selfish one, as in What do I want? But what does God want of me to look for in a mate?

Why does God not answer some prayers?

I'm working to try and figure out why God does not want us to be happy. This is a hard one for me because I'm not God and I tend to think of God like a good, loving human parent, not something totally other.

    Fame

God doesn't want his followers famous. He wants them obedient.

Would you give up being happy for Jesus?

Yes that is true. But those things that I mentioned are not necessarily sinful in and of themselves.

Would you give up being happy for Jesus?

Some translations translate the word joy as happiness, so I'm not sure if there is actually a difference there.

Would you give up being happy for Jesus?

In order to go to heaven, you must first die. I don't plan on dying anytime soon, so that's not what I was asking about. My focus is on enjoying, or rather, trying to live my life for God now, not one day dying and going to heaven. I'd love to hear more about how you have seen the glory of...

    I dislike birthdays

I hate birthdays. A waste of money, you get crappy gifts and a stupid song and overly sweet cake which I don't like (I hate sweets). People should save their money and give it to the poor, or in this case, me.

Would you give up being happy for Jesus?

In the bible, Jesus makes a lot of demands on us to give up everything in order to follow him. And it sounds nice when we say it, but who really puts it into practice? Would you be willing to give up your right to be happy, to have a family, a nice home, children and so on for Jesus? I think...

    Question about lust and forgiveness

The weird thing is, in the old testament, God was mostly fine with sexual immorality. He never spoke against polygamy, he let his followers keep concubines (which was basically a harem), he endorsed sex and all he expected was for people to keep their hands to their own property. "Drink from...
