Should Christian charities reject atheist volunteers?

Amen. Actually, Scripture even takes it a step FURTHER. If they are feeding the hungry only because God said so, then their motives are wrong. Big buzzer and thumbs down. Scripture says IF ye give, give with a glad heart. Jus sayin :sorry:

Should Christian charities reject atheist volunteers?

Not so sure. I think you may have missed a paragraph or two... This is how God feels about the "unrepentant" you condemn so harshly: 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but...

Should Christian charities reject atheist volunteers?

Something has been bugging me since your first post. Just a few observations niggling, like an itch? First, the Gospel of Grace by definition is a theological ideology that says that God's love is available to the entire world (John 3:16) even those who haven't accepted the grace freely...

Let's hear it for the Christians!

I have to ask a question. Where in the Bible does it reject the notion that anyone can be celibate?

I agree. But not all American Christians :grouppray:

    Eternal Secuirty is a Lie

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work...

Food Stamp program gets it right.

Thank you, I have. The problem is my jobs require me to work through most of the day, and I literally can't get around that without leaving one. I can't afford the fees now and I definitely couldn't if I were to leave one of my positions. I need to learn to drive and then maintain a car before...

Should Christian charities reject atheist volunteers?

Couldn't they have spread the Gospel to the Atheist Coalition? Or are atheists not worthy to receive the message?

Thank you for your kind words. I actually work for Lifetouch corporation - but the studio is inside JCP. I'm more than positive they will have a job for me elsewhere if it comes to JcP closing. Truth be told I'm looking to work for myself eventually. Photography is my life, and I have a passion...

Food Stamp program gets it right.

I work at the Portrait Studio inside JCPenney. Even with experience (3 years of verifiable experience, including a print and digital portfolio) I was hired at $8.50 an hour. This is a skilled trade, but still, retail is retail. The issue I have is that people demonize Walmart when they...

Should Christian charities reject atheist volunteers?

Ethically this is horribly wrong. From a Christian, a Biblical, standpoint.... Still wrong. Why is there even a debate? Can someone riddle me THAT?!

Food Stamp program gets it right.

The local walmart where I live pays new employees $8.00 an hour. Macy's, JC Penney, and Sears pay minimum wage. I've said it for years. At least walmart employees can afford to shop where they work

Food Stamp program gets it right.

When a person is without employment, they will need more than simply snap benefits to survive. So it stands to reason that there is some form of income there - such as TANF, GA, SSI/SSD, or UC benefits. That income will also reduce the amount of SNAP given. I have helped numerous people...

Food Stamp program gets it right.

Well I guess in my mind the goal would be (at least was for me when I was left with no income) to find work and therefore no longer have to rely on food stamps. I do disagree with the OP as far as taking an average and making it an absolute, but I get a kindasorta twitch about the idea that a...

Food Stamp program gets it right.

I think the issue is that the $135 figure is average spending, rather than the average SNAP payout. When I had no income for a bit, I was receiving $426 for 4 people. When I got a job making roughly $900 a month, my SNAP went down to $248. It isn't a flat rate for everyone regardless of what...
