I would suggest as a family you worship together. If you have children it is important for them to see their parents worshipping together. That being said I see nothing wrong with attending one church on Sunday and another on Wednesday as I do that myself.

My church has puppets for the 1st-3rd grade class, my parents church did puppets for VBS and I have a puppet I sometimes use for my kindergarteners. Puppets never go out of style. Kids love them and they are great teaching tool!
