Wesley's Parish Fellowship ASA Thread (7)

We have pollen all over our cars, the azalea's are blooming and grass is growing. Mid-day temps are in the low 70's and here we are in late January lol. It's crazy.

    The Synergism Safe House

I think what I am trying to get at is, would an unsaved person even want to go to heaven? From what I have read about heaven, its being 24/7 in the presence of God. If someone doesn't like worshiping God now, here on earth, why would they want to worship God continually in heaven?

    The Synergism Safe House

here is an odd question, I heard on sermon on the radio where the pastor stated his opinion (which he made clear it was his opinion) that the unsaved wouldn't want to go to heaven. That he would prefer hell to heaven. What is ya'll's opinion. L.J.

    The Synergism Safe House

funny thing how you said that some Nazarene's teach about losing salvation by regular sinning. While I do believe one can forfeit their salvation, I don't think it's as easy as some may think. Here is my reasoning... Notice how Jesus likens our relationship as a marriage covenant? He is the...

    The Synergism Safe House

Oz, I don't have enough posts yet to message you. But I'm close and when I get it I'll message you. I'm very aware of the Nazarene's. The only big issue I have is they believe in infant baptism. I have to choose my battles I guess. I do look at myself as a Wesleyan Arminian. P/s I did...

    The Synergism Safe House

Philothei, "closed hand fellowship" means those issues which he feels he cannot fellowship with that person. ie, if you don't believe in the deity of Christ, we cannot fellowship. if you don't believe that the bible is true, we cannot fellowship. "open hand fellowship" would be different views...

    The Synergism Safe House

ok, since this is suppose to be a safe house I'm hoping I can have this question answered without being called a heretic. My wife and I visited a church last weekend (Mosaic Gulf Coast). We like the way the preacher preaches, like everything about the church. But the one thing is that the...

    non-violence question

How do the Anabaptist church feel about someone who works for a company that builds things as ships for the Navy, or Aircraft for the Airforce. Would that compromise their non-violence stance? Thanks in advance

Being a disciple of Jesus Christ

I think it means that NOTHING should come before following Jesus. I think Jesus makes this clear in the parable of the sower.

What can I expect at a Mennonite Brethren church?

I too was raised RC. Wish there was a mennonite church close to us. Back in my home town there is a brethren church that a few of my friends go and it's a wonderful church.

    Recommend Bible Version

I use mostly the NKJV/KJV. Sometimes the NASV. One bible that I have and plan to use more of is the Sword Bible. It is KJVER. King James easy to read version. It uses red letters in both the NT and in the OT (where God speaks).

    curious

I have been looking at calvinism and was wondering when does a person know that he is saved? If a person thinks he is saved and doesn't have the fruit of the spirit then he is not saved right? I am asking this because i have been "saved" for 4 years. But even though i show flashes of the...

Is "once saved, always saved" a fundamentalist belief?

Deacon, I'm trying to understand this: "If you are truly saved, you may drift out into sin, bring reproach on yourself, God, and the church, but if your really one of his own, God will chastize us until we return to Him. (cf. Heb. 12:6-9) No, you cannot lose your salvation. If you do, you...

    Salvation Question

Good post Seal, On the subject of Christians sinning, I regularly watch "wretched" with Todd Friel. I don't agree with him on some things, but on one program he had one of the speakers from the Psalm 119 conference that was teaching that a Christian life is a repenntive (sp)life. One that when...

    Overcomers

Thank you Sue, This is something that I have lost sight of in my walk. That Jesus is not a subject of debate, that He is the object of my love, affection and obedience. I needed to see this dearly. Thank you so much, L.J.
